  • Aaaargghhh..... was watching QVC earlier and saw Lulu Guinness handbags. Now Ive never owned an expensive handbag in my life - could never afford to but it got me thinking I've just handed over at least £500 this month to balance transfer debts to 0% cards. Yes that will save me much more in the long run but soooo frustrating.
Right - as soon as Im debt free I'm buying me a nice handbag!!! Roll on 2015 :)
  • Hi, prettyplease. Well done on resisting the LG bag. You have two clear goals - pay off your debts and buy your home outright. Not worth derailing those for a plastic bag. ;)

Great that you have been able to make balance transfers, too. You;re sounding very focussed and your total will soon be dropping.
  • Thanks GBOT - I am quite fucussed right now. The spending app is really helping. Payday is on Wednesday and usually by now I'd be struggling but im feeling ok and have a bit of money spare! will make an overpayment Tuesday evening.

Spare money - what is this thing of which you speak?:D

Well I guess it belongs to the credit cards rather than my shoe fund. Its early days... im sure it won't happen very often!
  • PAYDAY :j :j :j

So now starts the real debt busting journey..... I made it through to payday without using credit cards but I also had no life for past month!
From now on I will stick to a weekly budget (160 -180) which will include all non dd spending - so shopping, petrol, car fixing, clothes, house fixing and having a life!

That should enable me to allocate £1000 to debt repayment per month. Will start today by parking in a nearby street to work thus saving £15 parking fees. Sorry residents!!!!!!

£1000 a month is a great amount to be able to throw at your debts! You'll crack this debt free malarky in no time!

We'll have no life this month either I decided to pay a bug chunk off when hubby got paid and of course things have cropped up and bargains not to be missed so we now have £1 "pocket money" until the 20th may. Oops! I feel a rummage and gumtree listing day coming!

    Well done again! :)

Well done on making it to payday :D
  • You can do it TDMum!!!
Thats the good thing about paying off upfront - somehow we just have to make do. I'm learning slowly but surely!

The title of this diary caught my eye and your first post sounds all too familiar, wishing away the months...

New to MSE and my first diary was really only tracking the last part of paying off my expensive & worrysome debt - which I have been doing for 3 years just to get to a point where I can start saving with OH for our first house

Subscribing and interested to see your journey, sounds like you've made a really good start getting things in order....time will fly and you'll be there before you know it!

    Good lucK!
