I think the reason you are missing my point is this. Why does a buyer choose an item on the site you quote (alibaba) and is willing to wait longer than buying it on a UK site?
    Answer: Price.
You must be pretty keen to get a lower price to wait so long and buy from a country with such a bad reutation.

    We're all moneysavers here afterall.

But all the stuff people flog on ebay is from China, so it's the same stuff only cheaper.

The same thing happens on alibaba.com and other Chinese sites that happens on eBay and Amazon.
    "Sort by price"
    Cheapest items first.
People buy the cheapest items. I know because I'm a seller.
So we are talking about the cheapest goods from chinese sites where people look and then sort by price.

Exactly, the Chinese are undercutting people here selling the same things.
We are not talking about your keyboard which was not sourced but commisioned by some huge IT company.
That is a completely different market. You are not telling me you bought your keyboard and mouse on alibaba and waited for them to be delivered.
If so... I feel sorry for you.

    I did as it happens.

No need to feel sorry for me, very please with the quality and speed of delivery.

  • What "PEOPLE" rave about fakes? Probably in the jail now, those who are the gang members making a video that says REPLICA under it, not even trying to hide the fact they are using a company logo and all the associated copywrite laws that apply in the UK, (the law exists for a very good reason!) It is a shame some people have such a low standard and encourage these nuggets to keep making replica items by buying them on ebay and other sites.

Sorry I have zero interest in the trading of worthless counterfeits that is keeping gangs in big money, they sell them to gullible people and you know they are fakes and are actually encouraging this practice?

    Shame on you.

OK, Dave, think I've said all I have to say on the subject, except, call me old, I like things that last a life time, big leather studded sofas that your grandfather owned passed down. Not Argos temporary wear or flat pack furniture which survives one move. Chinese charger for your laptop, I'd give it 6 months. Now - look for some money saving in this post. ;)

I can understand your question, as you're stuck on sites like alibaba. ;)

  • Nike is one of the top brands that criminals chose to replicate , as a reminder, ANYTHING copied and passed off as real, infringes on copywrite laws, and is a CRIME in the UK, if you are encouraging it, you are just as bad as the people who made them, and why you are happy to part with your hard earned cash is beyond me, furnishing a nice worldwide scam. lining some pockets of scumbags(I would not give them a penny)

How come they charge £110 for Chinese trainers when the Chinese want £15 for them?

    Who are the scumbags really?

  • It is easy for for them to make fake goods looks great, all they need is a plastic mould, and the copies are so good looking they can be carried off, the Chinese underground is so good at this, their laws are so lax that copying of so many logos and items it is well known, probably gets ignored, obtaining those goods directly is just an insane thing as it will only encourage them to keep churning out more and more imitations!

Forget about fakes, the bigger question is how we as ebay/amazon sellers will fare when aliexpress/dx/dhgate really take off.
