The ideal solution would be some sort of walking pole filled with poo bags and a mechanism to grab poo at the end. A sort of auto dispense mechanism iyswim.0

I'm one of those who is not in the slightest squeamish at picking up my dog's poo. The only thing I don't like is where bags are lightly fragranced and when the warm poo goes into it you get a mixture of scents that imo is even worse than any plain poo smell!
The most pointless product is a silly little torch with poo bags inside it (sometimes sold at vets). A friend got me one as a thank you for walking her dog, bless. You can't replace the battery on this torch so when it goes it goes. Plus the idea is you pull the bag out of the torch and another one emerges in its place. But we all know these things inevitably get fouled (sorry) up and you are left struggling in the dark to retrieve a bag. You can't see what you are doing because the bag is actually in the torch and you can't point the light at it. Doh....0 -
I am lucky that I live near a walk that has a large "dog area" of scrubby grass where dogs can do their business in peace. I have trained my dog to do his business in this area, (it is uneven and, clearly sign posted to discourage other users like kids and walkers, and of course there is dog poo, so not for humans). The only problem is that I have to keep my dog on the lead, because he is anti-social.
Anyway I think it is a great idea and that other Council's should make dog only areas. Obviously in non dog specific areas the picking up duties are taken care off.0 -
i think the problem with specific dog poop areas is that it stinks if heavily used, a few areas locally people don't pick up away from the path and on warms days its really unpleasant to walk there, would it not also increase risk of dogs picking up parasites?
Just came across the Dogee for holding your poop bags which i thought was a good idea as in summer i lack pockets and i pre-open the poo bags at home as i struggle when out with leads etc or if hands are cold and like that you don't need to buy certain poop bag rolls for the dispenser. We've plenty of bins on our usual walks, but the dicky bag does seem useful and i personally hate carrying non-opaque bags of poop in public, the price put me off buying one.
I could use a better way of disposing dog poo at home, currently it goes out with the rubbish collection fortnightly which isn't very green.
There was a tv program with grand designs chap, where they used dog poo to make gas to fuel a stove, think the thought of that would put me off any food that was cooking.0 -
Lack of poo bins to put poo in annoys me. Can't get rid anywhere else and end up sticking it bagged up on a gatepost and going home that way so I can go back past a poo bin!0

Why can't you carry it with you like the rest of us do?0 -
A good solution is an empty pringles tube in one of those lightweight rucksacks that gyms often give away for free. Put the poo in a bag, then drop it in the tube, lid on the tube, in the rucksack, job done. There's room for at least a couple of bags in the tube, depending on dog size I suppose, and your hands are still free to hold the lead(s). Just empty the tube into the bin when you're home. My problem is bending over to pick up poo. Those long handled things look distinctly disgusting, walking along holding that after it's picked up a nice squishy poo...charming.0

My friend used to have a piece of string that attached a poop scoop to the lead (so it stayed flat against the lead), maybe some sort of clip that would do that? Then you don't have to carry the poop scoop..
I definitely like the idea of a mini hoover thing to shlurp up poops. Easier for runny ones and might help encourage others to pick up after their dogs.
What about small "camouflaged" poop bins? Where they can be like attached to a tree trunk or something and you can see it but not an eye sore so the council stop saying they can't put bins in forests etc because of damage installing and that it ruins the view haha. A steaming dog plop assault course ruins it more!
Ooo that's an idea. Instead of fines for not picking up your dog poop you get a warning and the second time you get sent on a steaming dog plop assault course. Maybe they'll realise how unpleasant poo dodgying is! Especially when its not your dogs poop!£5 A Day Challenge - September £0/£155

I don't have a dog myself (partly because I do not want to do daily poo picking) but when I walk one for someone else, the thing I hate the most is the warm soft feeling. I always try to drop a few leaves over it first but it's not enough)
My mum's pet hate was poo bins that were left overflowing for weeks.0
