Nexus 7

Hi was thinking of buying a Nexus 7 tablet.

Never had one of these before so excuse my ignorance.

What I want is something portable so I can look at emails and the internet whilst away from home.

I see it mentions google mail but my main account is windows mail, will I be able to get that on this device?

Thank you.

Also excuse my ignorance as I dont use Windows Mail but do you access it via a website or software thats stored on the PC ?

If via a website then yes you could but if via software on your PC Id say no you cant.

You can set up email access for Live here.[/STRIKE]

If you want to be able to use it (virtually) anywhere, you will need the 3G version (requires a SIM card). If you're happy to only use it wherever you can find a wifi hotspot, you can opt for the wifi only version.

Windows mail is an email client (a piece of software for sending and receiving email), not an e-mail account/address. The Nexus 7 has apps for GMail and other email accounts
How do I add a signature?

If you have email account then you can either use an app for email .Or use a web browser to log in to your email web page and read send .

Hi, you can have as many different email clients as you want. You just need to set them up one by one.

I currently use googlemail/sky email/yahoo/ovi/orange and several hotmail accounts on my Nexus 7.

I use the same email clients on my PC, my tablet and my smartphone.

As stated it is wifi only so when out and about you would need access to free wifi networks.

Thanks everyone, I just assumed I could use it anywhere but as you point out I need 3G so will have to look into that.

I am with BT at home by the way.

When I am out and about and want to use the internet I simply use my phone as a 'hot spot' for my nexus 7, works a treat.

PS I am posting this from mine

I had forgotten about tethering my smartphone, it just depends how desperate I am and how much of my data allowance I have already used so usually only do this if occasionally.

I have WiFi nexus 7 and I'm with BT. I use BT hotspots with it (free option with your BT broadband).

Works well enough in most built up areas (where there's lots of other BT hotspot users).

Trouble with us we have a caravan and most of our trips away from home take us to a large field sometimes out in the middle of nowhere so we are at a disadvantage there.

Lots of the sites have wifi access though so would we put in a code like you do with a laptop?
