Lots of the sites have wifi access though so would we put in a code like you do with a laptop?
Yes, exactly the same process.How do I add a signature?0 -
Givememoney - I think the 3G version is the one to go for in your situation.
Probably going to be a new version of Nexus 7 released in July, if you want to wait that long (or maybe a deal on the outgoing versions?)0 -

What phone DO you have? I don't have a "smart" phone as such (Nokia C2-01), but I can enable Bluetooth and use that as a data modem. (I have tried this with my Ipod - not tried it as yet with the Nexus).0 -
I wouldn`t waste a couple of hundred on a Nexus 7 when this one would do just as well.
It`s £69 now but has been as low as £49.
It`ll do everything you need to do on it and you can expand the storage to 32gb plus the 8gb that`s built in.
WiFi enabled.
Had one for a couple of months now and can`t fault for the money.

2010 is either deluded or having some kind of sick joke. The specs on that Versus tablet are behind every single time, except that it can take a memory card. Good luck running JellyBean on it, never mind any others in the future. Only suitable for really basic tablet duties.0

I used to have a Motorola Xoom Android tablet - it was a useful piece of kit at the time. I then got a Galaxy S3, which pretty much does all the tasks that the tablet did (just on a smaller screen), so the tablet was a bit redundant from then on.
I think tablets are a bit of a gimmick halfway between a smartphone and a laptop, just not as useful as either. That's just my personal view, obviously! If music be the food of love, play on :beer:0 -

I paid £49 for this "ice cream sandwich" which can be rooted up to Jelly Bean
but why bother.
It does what I need it to do, emails, surfing, all the apps from playstore can be loaded on it and it`s very portable at 7" and can pick up WiFi on the move.
I can get all the I-players, utube and tv catchup with no probs.
I`m not going to fork out £199 for a Nexus7 that will do no more for what I need.
A 7" or less screen on ANYTHING is only any good for "making do" while on the move.
You still need a laptop as your main pc.
As Actung-Baby says, tablets are just a bit of a gimmick that everyone has been brainwashed into buying.0 -

I maybe wouldn't go as far as to say brainwashed, but tablet manufacturers (Apple in particular) seriously overestimate and oversell their usefulness. If music be the food of love, play on :beer:0 -

You`re right "brainwashed" was my word.
I guess it`s like everything else, they bring something new out and then convince the public that they "must have" (need) it.
Everyone then jumps on the bandwagon.
I have no intention of lugging a 15.4" laptop about, so when I saw a half decent, £49, 7" tablet, it seemed the ideal solution.
It does all I need it to do (on the move) without spending £199 for basically the same thing.0 -
Will the cheaper tablet run for 8 hours + ?
For the spec, the Nexus 7 is excellent value for money. Besides, you can buy the perfectly good 16gb version for £159.0
