I hope you find it useful, Tashja. I'm getting really into cooking now and I think it's useful for veggies (and non veggies who like the odd veggie meal) to share ideas, especially if (like me) we grew up with meat and 2 veg.

Yes. It depends how often you stir it etc I think. And whether you leave it to cool then break it up or stir it as it's cooling. My first batch was very crunchy in lumps. The second I stirred more and cooked more slowly and it has smaller lumps that are less hard.

I'm completely hooked and am taking some on holiday with us. I just don't feel like bought cereal at the moment.

I don't know if you will get a chance to answer this before you go but I have just had a look at the company you use for your vegetable/fruit deliveries and they deliver to my area !!

In the fruit boxes that say for 3/4 people does that mean you get 4 of each fruit (i.e. 4x apples, 4x Kiwis) or do you get more or less then this.

I am just trying to weigh up the cost.

Have a great holiday and I am going to try some of the recipies on your thread !!!

Hi, I've used a few veg box delivery companies, and Farmaround is definitely the best value, and really good quality stuff. Not sure where you are, but Farmaround North have dropped a flyer through my door for a reduction for 4 weeks for new customers. Drop me a PM if you'd like details.

Gingham - enjoy your break - you deserve it!

cheers GR, will have to try that when i exhaust the big box of crunchy nut flakes i just bought :D

is the flour really necessary? seems quite unusual mixed in with the oats, seeds and coconut. rice crispies or nuts or something more edible in its own right would seem like a more natural inclusion to me?

    Thanks for the recipe alwaysonthego.

Pavlov's dog, I can't taste the flour in it to be honest and I don't think it's necessary. You can add nuts, wheatgerm, milk powder...anything you fancy I think. I've been looking at the other cereal recipes in the More With Less cookbook and I am all set to try some others. I think you can just throw in what you have and see what happens!
