do you live alone ( or with someone else that receives disability benefit) and does anyone claim carers allowance for looking after you?

Hi if someone could shed some clarification on the ESA SDP fo me ive just been awarded ESA support group £123.70 per week. Last week I also had a letter stating that I could be entitled to SDP the form in and send it back, which i have done. if i am entitled to it, is it in addition to my esa or is it worked out that what I'll now be getting is part of it? I live alone, no one is a carer, not reg blind. Also on the dwp site for sdp it says a basic premium of around £35ish and an additional amount of £61ish (not exact amounts) are these already included in the esa amount or do you get these on top.

    Thank you in advance.

As you also get PIP DL you will get SDP, which is £61.10 in addition to your current £123.70 = £184.80

The premium of £35ish that you mention must be the Support Group Component that you are already getting within your £123.70

You sent the form back last week count 8 working days and then call DWP to check they receive your form, it will then be 1 - 2 weeks to process the form.

Hi Epitone. Thanks for the reply. Few little questions regards to the sdp being back dated. My claim for esa- original claim date feb 13th advised back dated to may 14th, my pip claim and back dated to march this yr. Regarding the sdp when would that likely to be back dated to, if at all it is? Also I got the info for premium amounts from gov uk/disability-premiums-income-support/what-youll-get I'm aware its for income support (the link) tho its all I could find, that states the £31 basic premium and mentions you will get the £61.10 on top.

    Again thank you.
