You can only Gift Aid to a charity - not many state schools are charities, are they?
True, though my point is more that buyers tend to feel a bit aggrieved that they are being forced to donate to a certain charity (or cause); what about if someone shopped in that bookshop regularly but their son/daughter went to another nearby school?Toyota - 'Always a better way', avoid buying Toyota.0 -
Can someone explain exactly what the offer is at Amazon please, it's not £150 to spend on anything is it?2025 - finally back comping after a stressful house move - send me fairy dust please0

The amazon offer is savings on specific products, see the link on the first page of this thread. I don't see anything amazing there. For example £3 off a certain toy, or £25 off a particular dvd burner that will be no use to most people. I doubt there are any real bargains there, just an excuse for them to persuade you to spend more money.0

Buy from your local bookshop and keep it going before it's eaten up by Smiths or Waterstone. Ours in Wiltshire gives a good deal. Not the best but I'd rather look at that shop.0

Most library authorities receive their copies of Harry Potter the day before its release date in the shops. They have to sign declarations to say they will be kept under lock and key until the release date or face fines etc. The books can then be issued to borrowers on the morning of release. Obviously if your wanting to borrow a library copy, you'll need to pop down to your local library beforehand to reserve your copy.Operation House Move £11993.60/£25000 (47% achieved)

Bought the last book in Kwik Save for £4.99 hardback on release day, limited to two copies per customer. Think I'll wait for the supermarkets to sell as a loss leader again.0

The Waterstones free Wizardology book offer is now nowhere to be seen...
Shame, looked like a great deal – my Mum insists on having the new HP books on the day they come out, and my kids would love the Wizardology book.

See my post just above yours!
I think I am going to have to buy two copies as my husband and I will squabble otherwise. So Amazon looks good for me, as two copies will qualify for free delivery.“All you need is love. But a little chocolate now and then doesn't hurt.” Charles M Schulz0
