So you saw an item on Amazon UK and you then asked a person in the USA to buy them for you. And you met this person on Elance which is a freelance (i.e. services) website.

How exactly did the subject of mini-cookers come up on Elance?

I was doing interviews to hire some people for some work. She was one of the people i interrviewed. I advertised in my skype mood that i wanted a product and she contacted me and told me she can get it for cheap and conviced me to pay by paypal telling me hows its safe.

i feel hopeless, i was hoping people can give me their experiences with chargeback against paypal

I wonder (and I'm horribly confused as I can't read 'youth speak' ) if you actually didn't buy named goods, but sent a basic payment for services and then merely added a note to say you were buying the ovens as a sort of 'private message'. In that case you would not be covered by paypal.

    I'm probably confused though

It is because i am shaken by this and finding it difficult o even think, or eat or type.

i wont go this far if i didnt feel i was scammed.

i keep refreshing this page hoping somone will give me some hope or explain their experience with chargebacks against paypal. i feel hopeless

if this is all true and i am finding it pretty hard to believe it is, then you have absolutly no one but your self to blame and im pretty sure you can wave goodbye to your money.

We'll ignore how stupid it is to believe the word of someone you don't know saying they can supply an item.

How exactly did you transfer the money on PayPal? Which options did you choose for the payment?
  • WHAT ACTUALLY HAPPENED?

Flippin heck - if you don't tell people what actually happened then they can't actually help you.

Some people have been successful with section 75 chargebacks against paypal, it really seems to depend on the card issuer.

I started a claim many years ago with First Direct but cancelled it before I got to really test to see if they would actually go through with it. More recently, within the last 3 years I questioned a Section 75 again with First Direct and was told it was not possible with paypal.

However, if you can search the other forums here on MSE and find the Norfolk hamper thread, several people on there were successful in using section 75 claims against paypal. Those were all earlier this year.

Send money > payment for goods or services > added description and url of product I want, gave an amazon url as it is also available for sale on amazon so paypal can see exactly what it is i am buying as amazon listing are detailed > chose co-operative debit card as funding method > paid.

5 days later scammer deleted me on skype (am assuming its because they already withdrew money), I opened a claim, and sellers tells paypal i paid for services when i didnt.

paypal closed case so quickly and went in favour of seller. I researched this on itnernet.

if you just tell paypal "buyer bought intangible goods" or "services". paypal just close the case always in bsellers favour.

I am, so stupid, but please someone help me by sharing your experience with chargebacks against paypal.

When you do this PayPal asks for a delivery address or a confirmation that physical delivery is not required - which option did you choose?

Also, where/how did the invoice you mentioned before arrive?
