OP didn't buy via Ebay, they paid via paypal.
I do find it odd that a student would buy a $3000 mini cooker all the way from America. You can pick them up for around £20-£40.:A:dance:1+1+1=1:dance::A

OP, did you purchase via the website you mentioned? Did you receive an invoice via Paypal before paying? Or did you simply send $3000 to a Paypal address.
I could easily send you a link to any website claiming it was mine and then ask you to pay me direct via Paypal, unfortunately this sounds like what has happened.
If you funded payment via credit card you may get some help from credit card company..0 -
I have had the feeling several times this week, on similar posts, that the details are a little sketchy and some crucial bits and pieces missing from the story, or is it just me? I am not accusing the poster of anything, you are just not making it crystal clear what happened.Warning: any unnecessary disclaimers appearing under my posts do not bear any connection with reality, either intended, accidental or otherwise. I don't normally post in the ebay forum so can't comment on other threads in here, but in this case there is definitely a lot of drip-feeding going on both here and in the identical thread in credit cards.0 -

Is the invoice that you have a PayPal invoice that you paid? If so, how on earth did PayPal think you hadn't paid for goods?
Why did you need to add the message for the seller?
How long have you been doing this buying and selling business? Are you registered as self-employed with HMRC for it?0 -
weird , OP sounds like the dodgy one after reading all that bilge
why someone with no VAT number , who is a poor student can afford to pay $3000 dollars to someone online for a "business venture", those cooker things you buy with one ring to sell to everyone at uni for a profit
anyone who tries to make a quick buck online ,and does zero research deserves to be scammed, if this is the sort of students who are out there then God help us all when we retire and they are our carers !!! If all students are are all this stupid then we are doomed!
These are cheap and easy to pick up, cost is at £29.99 at argos a mini oven/cooker with a ring on the top , can plug in and cook some beans....
Why does no one think to ring the bleedin PAYPAL helpline? you know, those things called TELEPHONES where a human uses speech to communicate to another human?
why come onto a public forum and get all varied answers and leave warbled messages , when one call could resolve it by appealing the paypal decision?
Argos Value Range Mini Oven - White 909/8446 has a one year warranty too !
enjoy your beans....0 -
Did you provide PayPal with the invoice that you received as proof that the items you bought were physical goods?
yes, they didnt consider it as evidence. they say anyone can forge evidence and that believed seller because seller has paypal business account and on paypal their website attached to paypal account was a digital goods website0 -
