Letter from debt recovery plus - help!

Hi all,
I've received a letter from debt recovery plus today saying that their client (smart parking ltd) have already tried to contact me regarding my breach of contract in asda car park back in November 2012. I did stay over two hours, however this is the first I've heard of it and haven't had any communication from anyone about this! I didn't get a parking ticket at the time but they do have my car registration number on the letter. They are asking for £120 - do I just ignore or do anything in particular?! Im getting married in 2 weeks and don't have that money!!
Thanks for any advice!

You won't be paying anything to these muppets - but have you complained to Asda yet about this harassment by their agent? COMPLAIN.

The reply I gave to the OP of the thread you first posted on relates to you as well:

Happy reading of all the links and info I have given there, which should put you completely in the picture about this scam. Please read the links and take it all in, and tell your friends & relatives NEVER to pay a private parking company (PPC) fake PCN, whether you receive it at first or not, whether you think you are 'bang to rights' or not.

    IT'S A SCAM.

    :)
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

I have had 3 silly begging letters of drp, i ignored all of them ((-: and they gave up well over a year ago.
PPCs say its carpark management, BPA say its raising standards..... we all know its just about raking in the revenue.
  • Hi all,

I need some advice please. I got a parking ticket at an Asda car park for parking in a child and parent bay when i popped into the shop to spend money in Asda! I do have a child and a car seat in my car, but i didn't have them with me on the day unfortnately. Following the ticket i recieved i chose to ignore it after reading reviews online about Smart Parking, and the fact that i was parked on private property and this wasn't a ticket issued by the police or council.

However, they have now sent a letter from Debt Recovery Plus Ltd threatening court action and that if i do not pay it will affect my credit rating.

I'm worried about the affect this could have on my credit rating and if i should continue to ignore? Thanks.

Actually we really don't need yet another thread about Debt Recovery Plus and groundless worries about credit rating being affected. Just read other threads, search the forum and other forums; look:

What you should have done was appeal (you read OLD threads if you thought the advice was still to ignore these fake PCNs - unless you are in Scotland).

What you can still do is complain and get it cancelled:

Do that. Get angry, get complaining. Tell us when it's cancelled.
