hi,
I have a standard poodle who had an IRRITABLE COAT, BAD EARS and struggled to PUT ON ANY WEIGHT. tried the big brands like Royal Canin, but none were very successful. Then found PURE GOLD PET FOOD. They have a website with all the range and the ingredients are identical to all the other big brands. The service is second to none, the food did wonders for my Molly and is HALF the PRICE of the big brands. STRONGLY RECOMMEND!!!!!!!!!0 -
Depends on how much your budget stretchs to. It might sound expensive for say £50 for a 15kg bag but you feed alot less so it normally works out the same amount as your average supermarket pet food. I feed raw but its not the answer for everyone. I also sometimes feed Eden, Taste of The Wild, MilliesWolfheart and NaturesDiet wet food. Use the which dog food website its amazing you can put what size, breed, age, exercise level and health issues or diet needs into and your budget and it will bring up a list of dog foods with rating of how good they are and ingredients. You wanna stay away from the likes of Maize, Wheat and cereals like that. Rice is ok and so is potato but I'd prefer without.
The best if your on a budget is Skinners Field and Trial. My boyfriends lab is on it and she has allergies which make her have ear infections and bite as her feet etc. Since changing to Skinners gone away. Butchers wet food is also pretty good if your on a budget granted its not the best wet food but its much better than the other supermarket brands, Its gluten free and has a high meat content.0 -
I've been using Little Chompers (https://www.little-chompers.co.uk) for a while for my black lab and she has the loveliest shiny coat and has had no 'issues' since I switched. Wasn't keen on doing raw as have never liked touching uncooked meats, even for myself (and I don't like the smell of a butchers either!) Pus this gets delivered to your door for free and they've always been reliable.0

There is no such thing as a general hyperllergenic food.
I t depends on what your dog is 'allergic' to.
I had a !!!!! who was sensitive to wheat gluten so was fed a lamb and rice diet.
My second dog reacted to this food so although it was hyperallergenic for my !!!!! it was not for my dog who was reacting to the lamb in it.
A food with no artificial additives or colouring would be more appropriate as these can cause problems with dogs as they can do with children.
Choose a food with as few ingredients as possible so you know what he is being fed.
However, springer spaniels are not gnerally calm dogs. Maybe more brain exercises would help0 -
Try looking on the following website. It will give you a run down of the best dog foods to buy, both dry and wet, it really has helped me:
all about dog food - it even has a dog food directory0 -
Depending on what food you decide on have a look at https://www.fetch.co.uk - great company, most foods are cheaper than the norm and you can choose a one hour delivery slot.A home is not a home ..... without a dog0

Before you buy online do check with your local pet shop.
I get Skinners Duck & Rice for my boy and can not find it cheaper online! (Better the £2 in my pocket!)Being polite and pleasant doesn't cost anything!
