I'd second this. It's really not hard either. The CJ Berry books are definately good. From around the 70's if I remember the dates in my books but you can normally get them on ebay. He explains not just what to do, but WHY so you can learn the reasons for this and that. And it's really simple. Ooo... and if you have blackberries near you, you can have some free fruit too, and the fun of picking it

I've recently made one of those "Conoisseur" brand wine kits, their Chardonnay one. 6 bottles for £10 (well, 5 and a bit bottles really because I'm a bit of a beginner with all this siphoning business.) Tasted okay too; maybe not Wolf Blass, but easily a match for the average four quid a bottle supermarket stuff.

It would have almost certainly have been better than Mateus Rosé - the only wine, where the empty bottle is worth more than the contents.

And don't forget that a "unit" of alcohol is not a bottle.

    YIPPEE :j :j I got the job I wanted :j :j :j

Working great hours with lovely people and only 10 minutes from home.

Those of you who said I had done the right thing by walking out of a job I was not happy in - thanks - you were right: T

Those who advised me on managing my budget and cuts I could make - thanks - you were right and I will continue to use all the tips and advice I received. :A

Those of you who suggested making home made wine - I will. Cheers

But especially to those of you who said you were in the same position and wished you could do the same - perhaps you could consider it?

I know I was fortunate in having a supportive OH on a good salary but this has been a real eye opener for me. It has made me address every aspect of my life without the benefit of rose tinted specs. Big hugs to all of you in that position. I really hope things can work out for you in time, as they have for me.
