It hasn't quite been the relaxing evening I was expecting this evening so I think I'll head off to bed soon. I think the only cure for my grumpy mood is sleep!

I've done a few more stitches of my flowerpot cat today and I've reserved the new Mo Hayder book from the library (pleased as I should get it as soon as they get it:j)

I recorded the sewing programme last night - looking forward to watching it - not that I think I will ever manage any sewing!
  • No sewing done today not even a stitch! Have put dd new chest of draws together though! And brought material to make curtains, busy day again tomorrow but might give myself the day off Friday lol

    Hope everything's ok Eric

Also watched the sewing bee last night, loved it and definatly want one of those bias binding things!

Off for an early night now , I'm reading the complete works of Sherlock Holmes at the moment anyone else got any good books on the go?

Black Sheep usually have some good bargains if you like xs kits (and they will have loads of wool if you are a knitter).[/QUOTE]

Oh dear, I risked looking at this site and ended up purchasing a Xstitch kit (link below) an Anniversary Xstitch with Winnie the Pooh and Piglet for my Anniversary in July and 50 plastic bobbins for my DMC threads, total was only £11.98 :j

I love Wallace and Gromit so this will be great and at £2.99 it's a bargain! :D

    Hi ladies.

    Comments from old thread,

Charlie. How nice to be able to get your stitching up on the wall! Personally I have only ever framed 4 pieces of my stitching and done it very simply.
I laid the stitched piece good side down so the back of the stitching facing me then I took the glass out of the frame I was using and laid it on the fabric. On the fabric I marked where the corners of the glass were then took the glass away.
I then cut the excess fabric away, but I didn't go exactly to the marks I had made, I added a couple of rows of cut further away from the marks so the fabric ended up bigger then the glass......does that make sense?
Then I just put the glass back in the frame, put the fabric on top, put the back in and that's it, done.
It's my very simple way of framing and means the frames can be changed very easily if needs be.

Chicky. Glad your Mum like her 'IF'. Hope you have a nice holiday too.

Ailsb. What a bargain and lovely subject too!

    Comments on new thread,

Brednall. I use photobucket to post pics and find it ok. I upload to PB, edit the size down to half (you might need to play around with the re-sizing but half size works for me) then click on the IMG code link (it automatically copies it for you) then paste the link into a post here and it then shows the picture in the thread.
Must admit getting used to the new PB was a bif of a PITA but its ok now I've used it a few times.
:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:
  • Loving the new thread thankyou Chickywiggle!!

Yay!! just won cross stitcher 179 with the tatty teddy advent calendar chart :j:j thank you for everyones help in working out which issue the chart was from.

Out of interest and bearing in mind I haven't bought threads for years......... need to get some anchor threads to do my tatty ted designs, there's a listing on ebay for 5 skeins of anchor threads for £3.30 inc p and p. Is this reasonable??
  • Hi, Bobbi, so glad you found the chart, a lot of us use across town stitching for threads she does special deals on bulk orders, I will be back in a jiffy with a link for you

My lunchtime has disapeared and I haven't managed any stitching. Hopefully I'll get some done tonight. My flowerpot cat is coming along nicely.

Bit annoyed. ordered a couple of bits from e*ay - one has turned up with half the aida missing !! and one is missing its chart. Neither a problem as plenty of stash to replace missing aida and I have the chart (somewhere) for the kit (ordered a spare for extra thread/card mount) but annoying nonetheless. I wish people were honest in their listings.
