This is the first birthday card I've ever made, for June's 84th birthday (she and my Mum go to the same over-80's gym club !).

I've matted and layered it with metallic and textured cardstock but I wish I'd trimmed the cross stitch a bit smaller so that more of the mounts showed. Still, it's a learning lesson.

Beautiful. And the extra fabric means it could go into a coaster instead of being discarded when the birth day is over. It looks lovely

Thanks for the nice comments on my family picture :) I haven't had time to do any more this week, but am now at my MILs for the weekend so looking forward to some stitchy and chatty times (hopefully!) :j Was looking at the Ursula Michaels patterns again and I do like her new sewing words butterfly one, and the ball of wool one :) I do love a lot of her designs! I've got so many projects to do though, I can't really justify buying any more patterns :o I've a lovely wedding one I want to do for me and hubby (our 5th anniversary this month!) and then I have the stained glass window one some of you are doing. :)

I'm thinking of selling some small kits that I have and don't think I'll sew - is ebay the best (or only!) place for this do you think? It's some of the DMC secret perfumes set. A couple have been opened (and maybe used the needle but can easy replace those!) but everything else is there. :D
The butterfly sewing design is currently top of my want list but like you I'm trying to resist until I have finished some more projects
I've sold xs stuff on EBAY Doesn't usually go for a lot of £ unless it is something rare but if you list them for 99 p you can keep relisting at no charge until they sell. Good luck

Hi ladies, I've been a lurker for the past week, trying to settle into my new hours at work.......im still at work now lol.
I've not managed any stitching at all....ggrrrrr but i'm hoping to tonight and tomorrow. I've got a card to finish before fathers day so I better get cracking.
Anyway I don't wanted to say the everyone's updates and finished projects are looking great. Well done.....now on to the next

Arrrrrg! Was about to start a new section of my family picture, when I've realised that I've done a (large) chunk of it 1 square out. To fix it, I think I'd have to unpick half of what I've already sewn. So I think I'm best actually just cutting my losses and starting completely from scratch :(

Think I might have to do something else for a while as just depressed with it now!

Oh no. Its so disheartening unpicking. Id start again as a fresh start.

    It's growing....slowly....

Sorry about the crease down the middle - didn't have chance to flatten it out properly.
