CROSS STITCH CRAZY - Issue 179 (August 2013)
Free Gift - Joan Elliot's chart collection booklet. - Some nice designs, I like some of the fairy ones and there's a really cute little bear on page 31
Fizzy Moon (bear and rabbit cuddled up on a seat) Not something I would stitch, too many browns/beiges so I would get bored easily.
Quickie (Money cooking a sausage on the BBQ) - The next monthly monkey for my collection. I'm all up to date with the other ones so far.
Celebstitch. (Hugh Jackman) - I like him, but hubby would take the mick if I ever stitched a celeb for myself :rotfl:I do wish they would show a pic of these stitched up cos some never end up looking like they are supposed to.
50 Parisian gift ideas - Some very pretty little designs here, I will definitely stitch a couple at some point.
Gadget pouches - (bright cases for ipad/ kindle etc) I wouldn't make these. Aside form the fact my phone / kindles etc have their own hard cases because I'm such a klutzI'm not all that keen on the designs.
Craft Extra - (Thank you for feeding my cat/dog// fish/ hamster etc cards) Cute cards.
Crazy for....DIY.- Coupe of nice designs but not sure if I have a need for them.
Safari ABC - (Letters in leopard/zebra/giraffe print with animals next to them) I really like these, very cute
Pg 42 - Top tips. Number 7 - 'Get your kids and hubby to do the food shop, for an hour of peaceful stitching'......is it only my hubby who would possibly resent the 'joy' of taking two youngsters shopping while I got to sit on my bum?? Aside from the fact they would forget to buy anything for dinners and would come back with a trolley full of junk food! I don't think so. :rotfl:
Teacups - (Cups with a floral design and border) I just don't like these, too flowery
Matryoshka Dolls - (Russian doll phone charms) Look a bit too small and fiddly for my liking
Ballroom Dancers - I just love the graduated colours in the dress, it looks lovely. This might make my list for my MIL who is a massive fan of Strictly.
Wine Glass charms - Pretty but I have no need to stitch them.
Party pops - (Lolipops decorated with perforated paper butterflies). Great idea, and not something I have seen before...but such a lot of work for a lollipop!

More photos for you guys
Firstly, my latest BD update, not done much this week with the lovely weather, WE HAVE SUN :j :rotfl:
Some of you may remember my mum's mackintosh roses I stitched last year, I finally got a frame for them and will send it this year, along with some real ones as its her 60th :T
And finally I framed pink bear and posted it off today, fingers crossed it arrives safely.

BD looking real I want to touch the fur
The frames you have chosen really set off the Roses and the bear I'm sure the recipients will be delighted0 -

Really lovely. And so appropriate for the sunny weather we are enjoying at the moment. Is it for you or a gift?

Those little cake designs are only 3" by 3" and yet are taking me about 6 hours each, and that is 6 solid hours of not moving off the chair even to pee. I have two and a half completed so still need to get 6 and half done, and finish the sampler, all before Saturday night to give my Mum a chance to get them made into cushions for me.
We are out again tomorrow day but should be home for teatime and I have decided to just work on the sampler and get it completed. Then work on the cakes and if I don't have time to finish it then I can post it to Australia when it is done.
Anyone know where I can buy an extra few hours in a day....lol
I thought the cupcakes looked like a lot of work even though not large. Have you considered using just one as the centrepiece of a cushion? You can buy cupcake themed fabric to border your stitching Much quicker and would look great IMHO0 -
Hi ladies.
Squishy. Really like the family design, it's coming along great.
Nmm. BD dreamer is coming along nicely. Really like the framed finishes, very nice.
Lindsey. How sweet is the castles in the sand design! Are you keeping it or is it a gift?
Caroline. Good luck with trying to get everything finished. I'd be inclined not to rush though and just post it all when finished but we all know how slowly I stitch :rotfl:
As for me. I got some stitching time this week, not much but some. I hope to get back to into it regularly next week as I haven't done much at all over the past 2-3 weeks what with doing lots of work in the kitchen. Now though the kitchen has the end in sight and the couple of jobs left aren't jobs I can do so there's nothing stopping me getting back to stitching everyday.....hopefully:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:0 -
Thanks everyone, I am actually keeping this design for me! I plan to frame it and attach some seashells to the bottom corner of the mount. The shells were found on the beach by my son and daughterBABY SOPHIE BORN 14/08/08Cross Stitch Cafe member No:37

Thanks for the nice comments on my family picture
I haven't had time to do any more this week, but am now at my MILs for the weekend so looking forward to some stitchy and chatty times (hopefully!) :j Was looking at the Ursula Michaels patterns again and I do like her new sewing words butterfly one, and the ball of wool one
I do love a lot of her designs! I've got so many projects to do though, I can't really justify buying any more patterns
I've a lovely wedding one I want to do for me and hubby (our 5th anniversary this month!) and then I have the stained glass window one some of you are doing.
I'm thinking of selling some small kits that I have and don't think I'll sew - is ebay the best (or only!) place for this do you think? It's some of the DMC secret perfumes set. A couple have been opened (and maybe used the needle but can easy replace those!) but everything else is there.0
