I normally skin my chicken and then put it on, as i'm watching my weight and find it sticks better to the meat. I then froze it,so hopefully by then the flavours have been well and truly absorbed.
I skinned the chicken and roasted the skin - my dog loved it.

Getting on well with my minimum spend week. Bought milk, so gone over slightly, and scrounged some cheddar from my SIL in return for some olive oil I gave her. I get paid on Weds so will restart my budget, but I need to keep it low then too.
Hubby is missing green salad, I am hoping the lettuces in the garden will be ready soon.Grocery Challenge (2 adults 2 kids)

Spent £19 in Morrys at the weekend on fruit & veg. Also brought some scallops which were ok but not worth the money imo.
Today we had roast lamb, mash, cabbage (my favourite) and carrots with fresh mint out of the garden. None left for tomorrow but was just enough to get mum another dinner out of tomorrow. First lettuce out of garden as well for in the week.MARCH £62.38/2500 -

Well refined my 'storecupboard week' mealplan a little more and spent around £16 in-store (OH also spent £3.50 on cleaning supplies yesterday and I spent £4 odd on bits and bobs) so my new total is £180.02. This means I have £4.98 to do me until I get paid 25/06 - but I don't need anything except will top up on milk and bananas when I run out :-)
Made a lovely three course meal today for OH's mum, who's staying for a couple of days. Forgot to take pics of starter and main course but everyone was really impressed with the individual baked syrup sponge puds I made for dessert. I was most impressed that I had all the ingredients in already :rotfl: I turned them upside down when I took the out of the ramekins, so the syrup was on top like a traditional steamed pudding (but much less hassle cooking in the oven!).
Mealplan as follows:- Sun 16 – (OH's mum visiting) – wild mushroom soup, spaghetti bolognaise with homemade foccacia and syrup sponge puddings with ice-cream
- Mon 17 – (OH’s mum visiting) – hummous, pittas and salads
- Tues 18 – chicken, broccoli and cheese lasagne with salad
- Wed 19 – vegetable chilli with rice
- Thurs 20 – homemade pizzas with salad
- Fri 21 – veggie shepherd’s pie & peas (made with pulses, not fake meat)
- Sat 22 – away celebrating a friend’s birthday!

Thanks
I do the same actually - that way the marinade actually goes into the chicken, rather than just the skin with plain chicken underneath.
You're welcome. I will definitely be making the orzo again so easy, quick and satisfying
Small spend for me today of £1.64 - baguette, small milk (as DD was whinging for a drink in the shop , and even juice was dearer!) and some YS pitta pockets for packed lunch.GC Jan £101.91/£150 Feb £70.96/150 Mar £100.43/150 Apr £108.45 app/150 May £149.70/150 Jun £155.15/150 July £76.30/£150 (includes food, toiletries and cleaning from 13th to 12th of each month.
