Hello everybody! That's my first challenge so I'm going to take it easy. Can you please put me down for £280. That's to include food and toiletries for the next 4 weeks for the family of 4 (2 adults and 2 small children-4 and 1). Today I went to Lidl and spent 63.35- but to be fair cupboards and fridge were quite empty + it included £24 worth of nappies for DD (7p/nappy and for me they are just as good as huggies).sheeppappar wrote: »larlar -- you can just buy massive bags of spuds/carrots/onions etc to get the best price, even from supermarkets, then just keep them cool + dark...

Electrician wired up cooker today but decorator has removed pantry cupboard door to paint the wall.
Decorator painted ceiling - 2 coats today - it had already had one. Then he undercoated door frame and put 2 coats of paint on walls. The walls need another coat of paint plus I still have no kitchen door.
The ceiling light is going to be put in on Thursday. One side of the kitchen is full of decorators stuff.

even if they start to sprout you can just cut the shoots off and eat the rest .. as far as I'm concerned you can *see* when/if they are no good to eat and can ignore any dates on the packaging.. maybe that's just me... mr sheep certainly doesnt agree
Ah thankyou i've just always assumed as soon as they sprout they were no good haha. ThankyouGoals (Christmas 2014 Journey Started 29th June 2014)

NSD for me today, second of the month. Pleased with that. Don't want to tempt fate but am feeling focused.
Cooked pasta bake with Sainsbury YS sausages that cost me 54p, this was followed by Basics rice pudding and fresh fruit - I can't remember if this is 17p a tin or 22p, we had two tins between 4 and it was lovely, can really recommend it. I prefer the taste to home made.
Tomorrow am going to have duck legs in orange sauce with Basics rice, might put some left over pineapple through it, with veg. Sounds expensive but duck was from vouchers I won. Will also make some flapjacks tomorrow with Jordans oats from the 99p Store (always feel should mention I have a creative work connection with them) for packed lunches.
I've been totting up budgets for next 3 months tonight, the GC is making a real difference thank you, loved the tip about buying seasonal veg rather than sticking to say broccoli and carrots as I have done so often, thank you, it's another way of thinking on here that when you think about it is so straightforward and simple and must be the sensible approach for so many, makes me feel daft for not doing that before, but then I've never given my finances such close attention. Hope it's not too stupid to ask, is there a calendar somewhere for which veg is in season when?
Oh no, wittering again. . .by the way becsxxx you haven't undone your hard work, I reckon you need treats and good times, life gets in the way of plans to cut down, and you can't put a price on good times IMHO xx0 -
Another 20.12 in mr t need to stay away from the shops!!!!April grocery challenge /£3500
