I'm chuckling at wondering what age condoms aren't required. I can't wait til we can do away with them...... We'd be thinking 'ooooo freebies'!!!!! :rotfl:
If you're in a committed relationship then unless needed for contraceptive purposes then not needed. Personally I haven't needed them for many years and then not regularly.:o

The flip flops thing is stupid - a) how would you get the right size for everyone b) I would guess a lot of women might be wearing tights and c) flip flops are hard to dance in. Waste of money IMO.0

The past three weddings I've been to have all had these baskets and one had the flip flops. I'd say about 80% of the flip flops were used as when I went to get some for wearing when playing lawn games outside there were none left to fit me so I went barefoot.
The baskets have been useful. We used a sewing kit to sew up my husbands trousers when he managed to split them, hairpins, hair spray and straighteners. They do come in handy! Plus if you use the type of items in them yourself you're not wasting money as you can take what isn't used afterwards.
Plus aren't the over 50s/60s the group who tend to be catching stds now? So perhaps some people do need condoms pointing out to them no matter what age they are!0 -

I'm not goin to shoot you down but think it a sad reflection that it would be something appropriate at a birthday party. :eek:Lost my soulmate so life is empty.

A small sewing kit and a few safety pins would be a really good addition to the basket. At the last wedding I attended one of the guests had a (needed!) shoulder strap on her dress which broke - it could have ruined her day if another guest (obviously a Girl Guide in a previous life) hadn't come to her rescue with a safety pin.[0
