Jeesh, such judgmental responses. Those appalled at the condoms: do you not remember what it was like to be young and frisky?! What do you think broom cupboards/linen closets are for?!

Personally I probably won't bother putting a basket together, but it's not a bad idea, especially deoderant and plasters. And I expect the condoms are as much of a joke as anything else, they're not going to make random people who hadn't already considered it have sex.

I remember being young but would never have contemplated sex anywhere so sordid. Cupboards are not for sex for goodness sake.

Also a judgemental response. Just because I think its tacky to have sex at a wedding you think I must be past it?

The responses in this thread are actually laughable.

It's a box of items in the toilet to suggest that the bride and groom are thinking about making sure their guests are comfortable and have a good night. Think people are over thinking the condoms being there!

I can't really say that i've ever thought of a cupboard as being "sordid".

I've been to events where there's been baskets of items for the guests' convenience, and have used plasters, combs, deodorant. I think it's a nice touch, and could be done for minimal amounts of cash.
Whether approved of or not, some people do cop off at weddings, though I don't think the availability of condoms would cause someone to do so. At a wedding I once went to the condoms were used as balloons to "decorate" the honeymoon suite.

I can see how it would be a nice gesture for young free-spirited guests and a bride who parents have no restrictions on costs.

It would a complete waste of money for my guests who have passed the stage or requiring these items, either because they certainly wouldn't need them (sex or not, condoms wouldn't be required!), or would come with the said items, or not require them in the first place (making sure they are wearing comfortable shoes).

As like many people, we went to restrict how much we spend and certainly avoid getting into debts, so as it all comes down to choice, I can think of many things I would rather spend the money on then these items.

I'm chuckling at wondering what age condoms aren't required. I can't wait til we can do away with them...... We'd be thinking 'ooooo freebies'!!!!! :rotfl:
