Yeah I've been after a floppy mounting bay for a Dimension 3000, have seen them for around £9 inc postage, but when you add in the cost of a drive, you're better off getting a nice slim external USB floppy for £15. That's what I'm doing, and I'll be able to use it on my laptop too.

Er.. you just advertised your referral link on this thread 12 hours ago. Once is enough don't you think?

Besides, it's better to use Martin's link. Same discount, but a much more worthwhile cause than your personal gain.

we get so many Dell PC offers posted so they are all being put into one thread. This makes it much easier for newcomers as the deals are in one place and they don't have to look through lots of different threads on the same subject. Please post any further Dell PC deals in this thread, thanks :)

I couldn't find any cheap, the one I did find for the floppy drive was £12 + £5p&p, not exactly cheap considering the drive itself is only ~£4 from ebuyer :-). The cheapest I did find was, as a previous poster said, £9 inc p&p. Think I'll see if i can make something out of standard household stuff I've got lying about. If successful I'll post back the plans.

Yes, I agree. If you go via the MSE affiliate link, a contribution is made to MoneySavingExpert.com, which helps it stay ad-free, sponsorship-free and free to use.

Heh, I tried doing a DIY jobby on an old floppy/hard drive bracket with no luck I'm afraid. Ended up cutting myself :(

Is that the best approach as some deals are far better than others and might be missed if all in one thread that you have to keep checking? I'm sure I'd have missed the deal for the Dell box I'm typing this on now if the thread hadn't been entitled "More Dell Misprices" or the other offer this week, "Dell for £246 {Spec}". Maybe if these are going to be frequent enough and generate enough interest then a sub board would be a good idea?
Just my suggestion, not complaining, how can I with this nice new shiney machine in front of me :-)
    Regards
    Rob
