If the repairs are less than the excess then its probably not worth claiming.
Too late now though, they will need to declare it.

He finishes with saying, if the repairs are less than the £3000 claim cancel the claim...

The car is worth £8000+ the customer will be severly out of pocket

Do you know if the full £3000 excess is payable even if the repair is only £2000?

If thats the case then wouldn't it be better to cancel the claim and repair it for £2k?

If there is more damage then carry on with the claim and get a £5k - £6k payout after the excess.

It's really strange. He keeps repeating this line. I'm amazed someone hasn't pointed out the reality of the situation yet. I genuinely find his "advice" both bizarre and puzzling on the issue of right offs.
