    Debt-free and Proud!
Just heard on the news that it is costing the tax payers 10 million pounds for Lady Thatcher's Funeral. How ridiculous when there are peeps struggling to raise their kids.

Agreed. They're cutting benefits (which are obviously soooooo lucrative in the first place) to try and claw back some cash but can still decide to shell out 10 million for the funeral of a horrible women who f'ed the poor, lost thousands jobs and was best buddies with General Pinochet- a war criminal.

    :mad::mad::mad:

    Doesn't even cover it.
    Debt free 6th December 2014 :)

    Evening All!

Are you Dutch ILC? I spent 3 1/2 years in Haarlem :D

The weather has been lovely here. Reached 21 degrees in the sun!!!! :j:j So, I have been to Wakehurst Place and then Sheffield Park Gardens with the parents. I bought a ladybird house for the garden, and the parents bought a bee house. Both now mounted in the garden, and the veg trug now finally has some veg seedlings in it :D

Hope you're all having great days :)

Katie - have a fabulous time tonight. So glad you're doing better and going home tomorrow :j

    xx

    couldn't agree more sylv,
lots of pensioners struggling who've paid thier taxes all thier lives,
families who work struggling to pay thier bills,
    bring the family up etc,
we know she was a public figure but that doesn't to me give the government the right to ask us taxpayers to pay towards her funeral, just MHO X

Not to mention the fact that she quite clearly stated, whilst alive, that she did not ever want to have a state funeral.

Can't fathom how/why a funeral can cost that much anyway. Wholly unnecessary.

I agree: We have Austerity one minute and out comes £10m the next, which is odd!

On the radio mentioned a Hoo-ray Henry p!ss-up on the tax-payer!

    All those expenses!

I saw the news about the zoo a little while ago. Those poor animals

Funny day here too fire**fly. Rain, sun, more rain, sun again but still really, really windy which I don't like

ellemm - I love Inverary. I haven't been for a good few years now but I remember the first time I saw the castle when I was taken there as a child. To me it was a fairytale castle that was real :D
I've been many times since then and always remember that first time.

Sheils - have a great trip. It's a lovely area. I hope the weather's kind for you. :)

Katie - have a lovely time at the party tonight. Won't be long now till you're home :A

Sylv, all that talk about fish and chips has made me really fancy some :D

ILC - I've got to own up now. :o I've seen that cat photo before and thought it was a wind up. I thought someone had photoshopped it.:o I can't remember where it was, though. It's absolutely amazing that they're real isn't it :T

wingo - sorry the day didn't go exactly as planned but in my book anything beats staying in doing the ironing :D

Hope you all have a lovely evening xx

DH wanted to open a bottle of wine to celebrate Mrs Thatcher's death. I wouldn't let him as it didn't seem right. Hope he doesn't hear too much more about her funeral etc.

I suppose I am the last person to notice this but have just found that the Sudoku comp is back. Love this one, we used to write it out for each other, however did it first but its a different one each time now. That will teach us to cheat!

Firefly - glad you managed some time in the garden today. We managed to dry some washing between the showers as it was nice and windy.

Went back in time a bit tonight and watched Catch Phrase which is on again.
