how is legitimate if u are using genuine manufactures coupons against products u have not bought?? double standards yet again on this thread....plenty of people have emailed me wanting the daily maily coupon that will scan so u are in the minority....sorry

    Where's the double standards?

Tesco will accept any manufacturers coupons on products stocked (yes, whether you have bought the product or not) simply because they are able to claim back the money through NCH. That is legitimate coupon use.

Printing off an internet coupon, one which you full well know Tesco's cannot be reimbursed for, IMHO is not legitimate coupon use.

I have already answered this in my previous post before Patty's explanation.
I will say it in a simple way, the cmother infront of me has done her shopping & bought pampers nappies, paid cash in full. I've just done a grocery shop & used a pampers coupon even though not bought the product. That coupon is now justified, balanced against purchases made. Tesco's will be reimburssed.

I hold my hands up to using original DMs in the past, but now I am aware that Tescos are not part of the National Book Tokens Company & will not be reimburssed, I will not be using originals or internet copies.

Tescos must have a log & take into concideration coupon loss, using coupons like this will only draw attention, enlighten loopholes in coupon usage & they'll come down hard, we'll all lose in the end.

I'm sure you were there with the R&R, Sainsburys open invitation to Tesco clubcard coupons, it came to an end, this site is big.

My work is done here, I hope I have manged to convince a few but I can't change the world on my own.

Fair play to you don't come moaning when it all goes wrong. What else is there other than coupons, not a lot.

even without using the DM book coupon, we can still use the magazine ones, the marie claire ones and the esquire ones scanned well and mr. t sells the magazines. so, no harm done.

i wouldn't want to buy 10 copies of DM, then find out the coupons are banned from t.

Kronen is absolutely right - but it won't make any difference now as Tesco have already sussed whats going on and unfortunately we are all going to get our fingers caught when they slam this particular drawer !

Its the DM book coupon thats finally done it - regardless of whether Tesco get the money back on this surely anyone could see that using literally dozens of these in a very short space of time in the same shops (I believe somebody boasted about using around 80 over just one weekend) was going to sound alarm bells ? And the latest scam (and that is exactly what it is - I make no apology for saying that) of printing multiple copies of an internet coupon was even more short sighted.

Ordinary MOC from manufacturers all carry small print which says that using these coupons against other products is not allowed. This is the manufacturers rule and Tesco have been doing us all a big favour by allowing us to use them "illegally". They have been able to do this because they are selling plenty of the "correct" product to other customers so they can offset our coupon usage against a correct purchase. Tesco can reclaim the money plus a handling fee and also hopefully attract more sales from us because we buy other things while we are in the store. Nobody loses out.

But this is all down to Tescos good will and by conning them with masses of £4 coupons that they can't redeem we effectively sent their good will down the pan. Same thing happened with R&R - and I expect quite a few of the same people were involved !

Personally, I'm fairly hacked off that my regular shopping discount is about to disappear mainly because a minority didn't have the sense not to exercise a bit of discretion .

Unfortunately you are correct. I love my coupon trips and I will miss them. Really short sighted hammering the internet DM vouchers it comes under the major pi55 take banner and they will react.

Couldn't agree more. My local Tesco (south London) have already reacted and brought out the "official" one coupon only rule. Was given the nod at the weekend by one of my trusted Tesco CAs who used to take several coupons in one transaction. Told me that Tesco aren't able to claim back money on some coupons (supposed he meant the DM one) and hence the crack down. All staff who take coupons were being spoken to and made to follow the official company line.

Well, forgive the cynicism but lets raise a  to all those who have abused the "turn the other cheek" attitude of Tescos in the past and now made it more difficult for regular couponers to save a few pence/pounds.

Scouring newspaper/magazines/websites for coupons almost became a hobby for me. Maybe we should all abandon Mr T and go to Waitrose where they apparently will take 50% in your till total in coupons (provided they sell the item of course).

using any coupon against a product not bought is not legitimate - says so on a coupon but u all still do it...just because tesco let u....and tesco let us use this coupon....end of....

if all this couponing lark came to and end tomorrow i wouldnt be sorry..just greatfull for the time it lasted (2 years and counting!)....i also benifited big time from sainsbury taking tesco clubcard deals vouchers. by the way there is somewhere else taking tesco clubcard vouchers but i shall only share this with a selected few as most of you on here are total Hypocrites.....
  • ps - anyone else want me to send them the dm coupon that scans? glad to help out ;-)
