Why is it called a coffee table? and not a tea table or a whatever table :D

Dunno the answer to that but we have a coffee table and i dont drink coffee :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
    History
    • The design of the coffee table derives from the tea table. Tea tables, in use throughout Europe as early as the seventeenth century, were tall, round tables set beside a chair or placed in front of a group seating arrangement. The tea service could be placed on the table and served to family and guests.
The tea table, during the seventeenth century, was usually a round top table. The top could be folded down and the table stored against the wall until tea was served again.
During the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries, the tea table evolved into the tea trolley, a rectangular table on casters that was brought out for tea.

    Time Frame
    • Exactly when the tea table passed out of favor and the coffee table took its place is subject to debate. In America, the production of coffee tables increased rapidly in the early twentieth century, and the low, rectangular table was marketed to the average homeowner.
The president of the Imperial Furniture Company, one J. Stuart Foote, claimed to have invented the modern day coffee table in 1920. His story was he cut down the legs of a table and when he saw the result it occurred to him that it was suitable for placement in front of the sofa and perfect setting down one's coffee

Dave - sorry been away so a bit lost now - do I pay £1 or is it more as the amount donated dont seem to add up to me - was I in Sweepstake 1 :o ?

The minimum donation per Justgiving is £2 and I think people are just choosing whichever charity they want to donate to. hth

Bit of a hint on the rice cooking. Once it is cooked, when you are draining it, give it a rinse with copious boiling water, stops it sticking nicely. Give it a good fluff up and the grains go onto the plate nice and separate. :D

Another good one is to add a tea spoon of vinegar right after boiling;):A

What witch hazel is saying is correct.

My list is only for items bought in a's to compare elsewhere

Her items are great finds but need to be bought elsewhere or at an advanced level added to a different shop where they could come up n/a. This is an advanced level and many just do a different shop for other bits.
From what I remeber from last year when apgs got bottoms up list is provided exclusively for apg purposes.
Would be too confusing to add on a buy in 's for brand match as my list is soley for apg purposes to keep things as simple as possible.
Of course last year lists worked for weeks on end.

Correct - that's what I said (the first part anyway). I sometimes do this (advanced adding of N/As) to make up an 8 item shop and then I don't need to buy any fillers!! (However, I am on a dangerous line at the moment - on not one but two recent shops, I only added a ninth item to my shopping by chance and one of the nine didn't appear on the APG, meaning I had exactly 8 different items! I was nearly going to take off the Sandwich Sponge from one of those 'vs M' shops, as I thought it might return N/A (without recourse on a glitched shop) - I am so glad I kept it there as it gave the comparison eight items!! I think I'll put a little more than the minimum on my next shops! Much as I like sailing close to the wind sometimes...)

    Just get into swimming?

    Idle question, forgive the intrusion.

Since I started swimming I lost nearly 10kg, gained some shoulders and muscle plus a 6 pack - swimming a mile is a daily pleasure as opposed to a fear :D:beer:

10kg over what length of time squills?
