No not a troll post
Like everything else....it seems like a small.thing ...but it is becoming a problem.....mutiple receipts all timed within minutes of each other ..receipts from other stores miles away ....bottom line its bordering on theft for such small amounts0 -

Maybe supermarkets should just keep the prices low instead of using higher prices to fund reward schemes?
The prices taken into account the points awarded on that item so it shouldn't matter who claims them.0 -
Well I work at CSD in Tesco and often i have thought about people who say to bin receipts, just to keep them and get the points... but unsure of rules for me taking them so i just bin them. What would your guys views be on this if staff were to womble?£10 A Day In June £350.83/£300July £618.81/£310

Abuse of reward card points would be considered gross misconduct in most cases for staff ...I have seen cases of this recently
I think that the term womble creates a inocent feel to the principle that at the end of the day its theft
Would people use the same priciple at argos where nectar is accepted ?
Looking through bins for high value purchases0 -
Well technically its not theft... theft from who? The person who has been given the "reward" doesnt want it and is discarded, therefore nobodys property. Also receipts themselves have no cash value until claimed, so just by someone collecting/picking them up has no offence whatsoever£10 A Day In June £350.83/£300July £618.81/£310

I think it is ridiculous to suggest that it is theft. If there was a coupon on the ground, you would pick it up, wouldn't you? Many times in Sainsburys I have passed on the school vouchers to the next customer and that has always been allowed. I don't think people should be allowed to spend their time in a car park and going back and forth to put points on their card but picking up an extra receipt or two doesn't hurt anyone.0

Calling it theft is laughable :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
no one in their right mind will prosecute someone for wombling. If someone wants to drop litter on the floor and I pick it up and it has 40 unclaimed pts then prosecute me.
I will carry on wombling and I don't believe nectar security to be that good tbh. Clubcard isn't.
How did you catch them Brackley2? Ask for their card they paid with? If so then they should just womble cash ones with you0 -

You would be shooting yourself in the foot and would easily get fired if caught...
Open up a new clubcard account just for wombles0 -
AngelsMadv wrote: »Well it may be the case for Sainsbury's but this is complete tosh with regards to ASDA and Tesco. The representatives of both of these groups have said it is OK to womble. YOu can only put two lots of CC points on each time you go in though from different receipts.
I'm sure that's just a trolling post.
What representatives?
The reason why you can only put two receipts on at a time, is because of wombles not for them.
It therefore inconveniences' people who have lost their CCs and who know want to put the saved receipts points on!
Tesco Stores and Clubcard are looking out for people who abuse the Clubcard system.
I overhead recently of someone who had tens of thousands of points - was 'fined' via a very large deduction and banned.I used to work for Tesco - now retired - speciality Clubcard0 -
Re lovetescoforever
Basically we detect fruad via a few methods
Cashiers informing us of large amounts of points being added
Nectar security informing us of names / cards to watch
Internal store reports ie loyalty card update
Again get this in context ..what you need to realise its not the odd amount of low level of points ...its the huge amounts that people are collecting ...going from store to store and area to area0
