Never Ever use paypal for sales on EBay

Since you stated you would be paying via bank transfer you have just explained to yourself why you would be foolish to do so.you are also getting confused about feedback and safety. Feedback does not give you any protection, you need to be reading the PayPal emails you receive every time you receive a payment that explains what you need for seller protection. Also, if you have left your buyer lovely positive feedback I am sure anyone else he tries to scam will be really pleased.0

Not everyone is aware that a dispute ends by not allowing negative feedback, is this common knowledge.
First i heard about it, i always thought the feedback system was fair and allowed truthful expression by buyer and seller experiences.
I was shocked today to find you cannot rely on positive feedback to indicate positive experiences.
More importantly there is no way of leaving negative feedback when someone does a snatch back or anything involving a dispute.0 -
You said you would be paying via bank transfers, so yes YOU would be the one facing issues.
If you meant you would keep your eBay account and expect buyers to pay by bank transfer then again you also know why that wouldn't work. You say yourself in the OP that eBay require sellers to use PayPal, so no PayPal account = no more selling on eBay.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Why would anyone use ebay to sell something if it's possible for someone to snatch back and have a chance of paypal going against you.
It seems to me that all the protection is aimed at the buyer not the seller, the fact thats it's not even possible to leave negative feedback against the buyer feels wrong.
You're supposed to obtain proof of postage when sending. Personally I only ever send items by recorded delivery at minimum so there is an audit trail.0 -
Hi Boss
I had read about someone sending a pendrive with a bitcoin wallet and the bitcoins, although it seemed questionable if that would have solved the problem.0 -

The vast majority of problems with eBay is buyers and sellers not bothering to read and adhere to eBay's policies. As Soolin says you are not allowed to sell intanglible items. You are also not permitted to put anything in feedback that relates to a case, certainly not accuse someone of fraud when you lost the case. And you lost the case because you didn't adhere to eBay policies. All the information you need is there for you if you take the time to actually read it.Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0 -
Instead of eBay, may be better to flog bitcoins on one of the recognised exchanges like mount gox - probably cheaper, more reliable and fewer scumbags.
Personally I think bitcoins are going to crash hugely sometime soon, it its easier to lose confidence in an unbacked currency that has tripled against the dollar in a month than one tied to some real assets. Sell now, soon there will be a load of amateur speculators left holding Duff numbers, much like other bubbles (eg first dotcom boom and bust, facebook stock from IPO, apple shares bought at $700/share etc)0 -
I am not following you here, if i sold he paid me using a bank transfer i would not have been in this mess.
Positive feedback is the only way of judging if a buyer or seller is safe to deal with, you don't get any emails from paypal before you enter into a transaction.
Are you agreeing that ebay should not allow negative feedback when they commit fraud, there is no doubt this guy did commit fraud, yet you seem to be making out i deserved this to happen.
You can report the buyer to eBay, and if other sellers do the same, eBay may well take action.
The problem is that Paypal and eBay can't necessarily tell with intangible items whether or not they've arrived if the buyer says they haven't and the seller says they have. It's really a matter of taking smalls claim court action against the buyer, as a court could consider a wider range of evidence.0
