I bought the 100 Watt equivalent Morrisons bulbs the other day and they are really good. Very bright.
Don't buy the Ikea ones - our friends had them and they were really dim so definately not worth buying.0 -
When Blackpool illuminations use 100% low energy bulbs I shall pay my first visit - should be a hoot! They cannot be serious can they!?0

I couldn't find these in Morrison's, even the ones they had that we subsidised by Eon on BOGOF for 99p wasn't in stock0

Plenty of both 39p energy saving bayonet and screw fitting bulbs at the Morrisons in Tavistock this afternoon - in a big box at the end of the aisle where the rest of the light bulbs are. No good to me though, I need small screw fittings!0

How does anybody know these things last 12 years? I don't think they've been on sale that long. redkettle
12 Years??? Martin actually suggested that energy saving bulbs should last up to 12 times longer than standard bulbs.
I think that they have been made for around 8-9 years now. I can remember getting some low cost energy saving bulbs from Norweb back in 1998/99. I don't think that they last anything like as long as is suggested by many people. The ones in the bedrooms are the oldest ones in my house but those in the 2 reading lamps in the living room have each been replaced several times. They don't seem to last more than 12-18 months.0 -

A couple of weeks ago the 15 watt energy saving bulb in the lamp on top of my TV stopped had stopped working at some point while I was away on holiday.
Last week I replaced it with another 15 watt bulb from the same box of 4 & it seemed to be working perfectly, well until the early hours of Friday morning that is. I was browsing the internet when there was a loud bang & the reading lamp fell into darkness! So, the new energy saving bulb lasted 7 - 8 days. What happened to 10,000 hours+ ?0 -
Can anyone tell me why you can never get small bayonet cap bulbs on these special offers. I managed to find SES ones recently but not the cap ones.0
