Selling car!
Hi all,
Was wondering if I could get some advice on selling my car.
I bought my car used in 2010, but it is an 07 reg. I'm a full time student and London based, so with insurance and mot looming I think it's time to get rid of it and put myself in a better financial situation. To be honest I don't use it enough to justify keeping it, and transport is so good in London it's a luxury I can't really afford.
The car is in good condition, with a low 30k milage, although the front electric windows are temperamental and sometimes don't work. Garage has checked this out and can't seem to find the cause.
Because the mot expires next month, and because I'm busy I'm keen to avoid private sales- I don't really have the time to deal with viewings as working 3 jobs currently.
So what are my other options? Any advice for an easy and quick ish sale greatly appreciated!
Many thanks
A xx

Whats the Car?
what are you hoping to get for it?
Have a look at small independent traders some will be willing to buy off you - dont expect much over Trade price though.
Put a poster up at school/uni/college see if you get any quick joy.

The nasty webuyanycar folks have offered about 4.5k but expecting that to go down and want to consider options!Debt: CC -£0 (100% :j) ; Overdraft -£0:j;

£4.5k ?? for a 2007 polo? What extra's is it gold plated?
2007 / 2008 cars on 57 and 08 plates for almost a £1000 less in the autotrader now. And no not silly mileages.
Although a few Cat C's. Do people like crashing them?Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -

Perhaps the brakes are as bad as the electric windows?

You want to be in a better financial position then you should MOT it, as it is a good car with low miles touch wood nothing much should be wrong with it.
People will feel they are in a stronger position as there is low MOT and the fact you are overly eager to sell.
Ps nobody likes selling cars privately but sometimes you just have to do it...don't give your money to a garage because you don't want to put it on auto trader!0 -
I'm looking for a car at the moment and not even bothering to glance at a car with only 1 month MOT on it. If you want a quick sale you should get a new MOT.Hi. Agreed. As I buyer I think there must be something wrong with a car that has not had a new/long MoT put on it. There are plenty to choose from so why would a buyer pay a shed load for a car that he has to immediately get MoT'd and possibly pay out another shed load on to get it through?0 -
Thanks for the advice guys- will speak to garage tomorrow to book in an MOT!Debt: CC -£0 (100% :j) ; Overdraft -£0:j;
