    Still can`t see it.

I think you`re missing the whole point of a cashback site, namely to get cashback.

If it`s not guaranteed it should be clearly and prominently stated on their home page, preferably with a flashing banner.

It should not be hiddden somewhere in the small print of their T&C, which I still can`t find.
It certainly doesn`t mention it when you click through to a retailer as I pointed out in my previous post.

I am not missing any point. I have amassed £300 'free' money. Pretty sure that is the definition of cashback.

I have also had some claims denied. Every offer has t&cs and I am under no grand delusion of otherwise. Some claims I have had upheld, some retailers even honouring claims where in fact I was at fault. Then there is the retailers who denied my claims even though I followed their stated criteria. Swings in roundabouts.

From sign up to both Quidco and Topcashback I have never thought any cashback was guaranteed, whether that is my common sense or some obvious messages from either site, I could not say.

... but I did find the t&c I quoted within seconds of landing on the Argos retailer page - not hidden by any means.

Such an important point regarding cashback not being guaranteed, should be prominently and clearly shown on TCB home page.
There is no possible reason for not doing this except to deceive the public.
    It`s leaning towards sharp practice.

    Hey guys,

I looks like a very active discussion!. I'm glad to hear you are so positive about earning cashback American Dreamer.

@2010 - Going back to the main point you keep referring back to about the home page, can I ask where you would put this? As any home page for a website is used as the main point of navigation I am not quite sure where this would fit in. I'm more than happy to share this with our design team.

We have an ever growing member base, some fantastic reviews and last year won best cashback site of the year. It really is a shame that you believe we're not doing what we can to inform members exactly what cashback is and that it's not guaranteed. If we were a company trying to hide behind this, I certainly wouldn't be saying this under no uncertain terms in such a place full of Money Saving Experts.

    Best wishes,
    Matt

Here is a good compromise as you don`t seem keen to have the vital information on your home page.

At the very top of the home page there is link a to "About Cashback", where you give plenty of info about how it works etc, etc.,and FAQ but no mention of it not being guaranteed.

When the link is clicked it says the following:

    What Is Cashback?

When shopping with a selected merchant, we simply give you back a percentage of your spend once your purchase is confirmed.

Immediately underneath this should be inserted:

Please be aware that cashback is not guaranteed.

Anyone experiencing shockingly poor customer service from TopCashBack recently?
Having opted to be 'payed out', from my earnings, in an Amazon voucher (over £80) they quickly deducted £5 making me a 'plus TCB customer' and that's it! No Amazon voucher, no explanation, nothing!
This was over a week ago. I have sent numerous requests via they customer service 'support ticket' system but they have all been ignored. After a week of trying my first query is still "waiting for Topcashback" to respond!
They website boasts about how fast they payout Amazon certificates "normally same day" - and this had been my experience in the past using the same payout method.
If they are inundated with queries complaints etc then a "headsups" to customers isn't much to ask. A homepage message to customers is better than nothing; anything but just rudely ignoring customers.
In the past messages have been answered within a day or two at the most so I'm very disappointed to be in this position with no explanation. Owing to all the transactions I tracked and, the needless time I have wasted trying to get a response from them, I will pursue this matter further.
TCB is used a lot by members here so I thought it would be a good place to find out if anyone else is experiencing similar?

I find that I am having more & more claims declined for retailers that I do use regularly i.e. there is a previous history showing that I have used them & cash back was paid but now...

    " Hi there,

After looking into your claim further for you, I am sorry to tell you that your claim has been declined as the network has not identified ourselves as the last referral to the merchant’s site and this transaction.

As I am sure you can appreciate, if we have not been identified as the last referral, the merchant does not pay the cashback to ourselves so we are unable to pass this back onto you. Unfortunately, as this is the nature of cashback, we cannot guarantee that you will always be successful in retrieving your cashback, although we do strive to recover as many as the missing claims as we can.

Please be assured that we have tried our hardest to recover your expected cashback for this claim by exploring all channels with no success.

I am very sorry that we were unable to claim your expected cashback for you on this occasion and we are as disappointed as you on this decision.

I hope future transactions run smoothly for you in the future.

    Best Wishes,
    Patrick. "

I am getting this ridiculous drivel more & more frequently to the point where I feel I may as well give up & join Quidco as there never seems to be as many complaints about them.

I do NOT use any other cashback site & I really am getting very annoyed with this standard answer as the wording is always the same... I'm not a huge spender & most of the declines are under £1 so it really would not hurt them to cough up.

They have NEVER paid out on anything I have queried yet I always go through TCB so WHAT is the issue? Their tracking software? They never explain.

I don't expect a reply from a TCB minion other than the tripe copied above. None of the customer service agents seem capable of independent decisions.

Looks like it's quidco from now on.

    Hi Matt
Is is common practice for TCB to take over a week to answer a query? I've tried on numerous occasions but get no response.
I am still waiting for my 'payout' in the form of an Amazon voucher. This normally is done within a day. The only thing that happened when I opted to have my payable earnings paid via an Amazon voucher was that TCB deducted £5 to make a 'plus customer' for another yr - talk about a kick in the teeth - didn't seem to get a choice in the matter. So now I'm a plus customer as opposed to a classic customer; completely ignored by TCB not knowing when or if I will receive my own money/Amazon voucher.
What is the point of TopCashBack if they don't payout?
  • What is the point of TopCashback if they don't payout? Said mr97.

Er advertising products as bait getting the business for the advertisers and then not paying the cashback. Its much cheaper that way we are now finding at TopCashback. :) joke but it seems that way nowadays.

I've only had problems this last few months including the infamous Co-op Bank Confirmed to Declined debacle, ongoing and to my knowledge TCB still haven't put forward OUR claims due to Co-op mystery information they need that's so mysterious even the Co-op don't know what they want to know.

I sent a support ticket a week ago still no reply:(

Service quality at TCB going down the drain.

TCB was good for me in 2015.

TCB is hardly worth the bother in 2016.
