Hi folks. i am relatively new and slightly dubious of this cashback business. However, over the last year or so i have started to dabble ... mainly few pennies here or couple pounds here. Which brings me to my two biggest, by far claims .... both of which have been declined!!
Jan 2015 - Harveys Furniture - £95
Nov 2015 - Tesco Bank (car insurance) - £55.00
Both have been declined with the following response "claim has been declined as the network has not identified ourselves as the last referral ...." ..... Now this is fundamentally not true!!. I am very careful that i go thru topcashback site before checking out and paying.
To lose £140 is not funny and seems to make a mockery of the whole idea/system.
Is there any further recourse i can take ..... It seems to much of a coincidence to me??
Take online court against them cost £25 and very easy to do which TCB would have to pay, also add expenses and time spent chasing the cashbacks. TCB in recent years have a big big pattern of declining big cashbacks of £50 plus transactions. Dont let them get away with it.0 -
Hi Everyone,
I hope you are all having a great weekend.
@steve1500 - I am sorry to hear that. The only thing that may prevent you from submitting a support ticket is if your estimate has passed by under 4 weeks. If you can send me an email to mse@topcashback.co.uk I can check our your estimate and see what is happening.
@ArsenalFC - Like other non guaranteed cashback sites the merchant and their networks have every right to decline payment to us if we are not eligible for the cashback. We can't fight a decision that has been made fairly and using the information available I am afraid. We will however, help members where we can and try and overturn declined transaction. We do have access to the full statistics of declined transactions and if we notice a merchant is declining more transactions than we would expect we would investigate this and take action if necessary. We do not benefit from declined transactions and would never pass on this decision unless absolutely essential.
Best wishes,
Matt“Official Company Representative

Fairly? Who is the judge of that. Maybe so in some cases but not fairly on other cases.. You work for them so I expect u to give info to members what u have been told by your bosses. I don't think they would involve u in the decision making on whose transactions to decline and keep the money? And yes I'm accusing your bosses of declining a lot of transactions and keeping the money.0 -
Hi Everyone,
I hope you are enjoying the week!
@bristolleedsfan - Good spot! I must be enjoying helping everyone so much it feels like a weekend
@ArsenalFC - I truly am sorry you feel this way about our company. We are a fair company who value our members and this has been set out right from the very start and remains very much at the heart of TopCashback. We have built a strong member base who enjoy our site and enjoy the rewards they receive. Sometimes things don't go plan, as can happen with any cashback commission site you use but if this happens TopCashback or any individual within in does not profit from this and will always help you wherever possible. There are many commission sites out there that only advertise part of the commission available and keep the rest themselves and we would have become one of these if this was our intention. We are not a site like this and have no intentions to become one.
I hope this helps you both.
Best wishes,

Perplexed by topcashback
I'm at a loss to figure this one out, here we go....
Back in November topcashback were advertising an enhanced cash back if you used Argos Fast Track, so I went for it....as has been the case in some of the higher value transactions it allegedly didn't track, so I submitted the claim using the info stored on the TCB site and I could see the date, time etc I visited Argos.
Some months later I received cash back, but at the wrong amount. I queried this and have screenshots of the complete transaction ( once bitten twice shy) to be advised to wait longer for the uplift. I thanked the TCB rep and said OK, because they have now acknowledged that the transaction DID exist AND it was tracked by them.
They have now said they have to go back to " try " and get the balance of the cash back added.
I can't actually see what the problem is and why I have to wait so long ( original transaction was last week in November were now into March ), they have it confirmed and tracked, I have screen grabs of the advertised cash back on the TCB site and the offer but they say they don't need them. So can anyone think of any reason why it's not a simple case to get the advertised cash back at the time of the sale as advertised by TCB, I've sent a nudge but as they say themselves, they don't really act on them.No two ways about this one: Anything Free is not a Basic Right..it had to be earned...by someone, somewhere0 -
@mamabuddah,
There can be a few different reasons why we have to wait for the correct cashback but this is mainly because there is a chance we are awarded a lower than expected commission rate. If you can send me an email to mse@topcasback.co.uk I can take a look into the information you have been told and then help you further with this.

Resent the email, have you checked your spam folder? I have attached a screenshot of your offer of cashback at the time I made the purchase, just in case you have difficulty confirming the TCB rate for cashback.
I have also resent the email without the screenshot in case there's a problem at your end.
