    Not user friendly:_

Why have Top Cashback closed their forums, where users could impart useful info on merchants, not paying out for example.?

I don't think they liked the negative comments & information about the service going downhill over the last couple of years, not to mention various companies shady practices, they should restore it, if things are taken seriously & fixed the forums would be glowing & bring them more business in, or did it just become an inconvenience that the customers wanted help?

Recently TCB closed their customer forums for rather spurious reasons. These forums were a useful tool to guage the effectiveness of both TCB and retailers. They say their retailer stats tells all - well in the 5 years I have used TCB - I have not found the stats representative by a wide margin.

It is now virtually impossible to contact TCB except in relation to a specific transaction, in other words if you have a general question, don't bother.

One has to really question what TCB's ulterior motives are for doing this, which by any measurement is unhelpful.

Secondly I have noticed that the number of retailers that are registered on TCB has declined; I have used (69) of which 23 retailers are no longer on TCB , ie 33% - this is pretty remarkable and should perhaps be commented on. It may also be a factor why TCB are closing the forums and options to question TCB's performance?

Bottom line TCB are no longer offering the best deals, frequently there are better deals off TCB, with less hassle.

Is Quidco doing any better? Or is the beginning of the end for cashback sites?

OI ventured onto Quidco a couple of years back but found them confusing and awful to get any cashback as every retailer I went on, Quidco said they were not relevant foe whatever I wanted to buy . I have given up with them completely. There are others like Piggy Post but I hardly see or hear anything about them now. TCB came out best in polls but sadly, they do seem to have declined over the years. The most annoying thing was the Adblock that was never explained to people which caused a furor of complains (including mine) as the cash back was not recognised and despite TCB having a record of the transactions, they would not pay it until starting a new claim which takes months and even then, nothing seems to be happening with mine. have emailed them about it. This should be a SIMPLE system and they have made it as hard as possible to get any cashback now.

You've said just what I was thinking. Quite a few of the retailers I have used have disappeared. Maybe the retailers are ahead of the game and realise that cashback sites have outgrown there usefulness.

I have always gone for the best deal which increasingly is off Topcashback. I also note , notwithstanding the departure of some retailers, that those that remain have reduced their cashback rates. It becomes a vicious circle because as it stands to reason that as they reduce cashback rates the retailers become less competitive so more deals are done outside the cashback sites.

As for doing away with their forums, and making it more difficult to contact for anything other than specific transactions, will annoy users and just drive away business. Retailers will pick up the negative vibes, they're no fools, A massive faux pas from Topcashback, no one will believe that getting rid of the user forums is a positive.

Just done a little detective work - did a sample of three sites which are longer on TCB, yup they are still active on other cashbacksites.

I think that TCB is loosing it - has the CEO of the Coop moved to TCB? Someone is smoking dope.

Seems that 5 months isn't unusual if you look at the reviews on TCB for Green Flag.

TCB says that 98.7% are statisfied with Green Flag/TCB, however the way that TCB calculates this distorts reality - they assume that if you don't complain then punters must be happy.

Unfortunately TCB have changed things about payment schedules - previously you could see this before you bought, now however you only see the payout time frames after you have bought.

    Hi there,

I hope that you enjoyed the weekend!

@hook, you can leave your cashback to build up for as long as you like, however, please be sure to log in at least once every 6 months to ensure that your account does not become dormant.

@fyr, @Br1l, @Carh, @robmar0se, @smos585, in regards to the forum, we made a decision to close this as we have found that we are able to assist out members more efficiently via our support ticketing system. This allow us to look at a members transaction in more detail and advise accordingly, which is something that we could not do as well on the forum. If you wish to submit a generic question rather than one regarding a specific transaction made, then you can do this by selecting the other/unclassified category. Merchants may come and go from site but this should not have an impact on whether your cashback is received, but if you do find that this is not progressing as expected, then please do let us know and we are always happy to help.

@lulu 92, I can see that the estimated payable speed for this merchant is 18 weeks, however, as this is just an estimate based on the merchants previous payout speeds, we do ask that you allow a further 4 weeks on top of this for the cashback to be produced. Could you kindly allow your transaction to continue to progress for the time being? You can always contact us if you find that this does not progress for you as expected.

If you select 'see more statistics' on the lower right hand side of the merchants page, you will be able to view the merchants estimated payable speed.

    Best wishes,
    Samantha

Please, please don't keep on repeating this repetitive statement, it sounds like a warped record, always the same, no one believes it. In reality we know only too well why you did this, the reasons given are a sham, and full of half truths (and that's being generous)

    Shame on you.

    Hi robmar0se,

Apologies for the spelling error there! I am sorry that you feel this is a repetitive statement, I can confirm that this is the only reason that we decided to close the forum and I am afraid that there is nothing more that I am able to say regarding this.

    Kind regards,
