CD player not working

2008 Ford Focus. Was playing a CD fine. Decided to change it and now when I put the CD in it says cd checking for a minute then CD error and ejects the CD. Happens with every CD I put in.

Could it be dust or more serious?

    But try a cleaning disc if not, replace.

    Check if theres anything been pushed into the player,my grand daughter used to use her mums cd player to hide her hairclips.....:p

    This can happen if it gets too hot. I have never met a car that doesn't have this error on long journeys due to overheating. See if it works when you first get in the car.
