O/S Daily Wednesday 27th March This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well”

Morning chums ,sky is looking a bit brighter today but its still very chilly.School run first thing then a pile of ironing to get done out of the way.they I have to go for an easter egg hunt for the boys eggs.I don't buy big ones as they get several from family anyway but around a quid will do and they are quite happy with that.DD says she doesn't mind the eggs its all the blooming wrapping and cardboard that comes with them.
Today the insurance chap is coming to assess my neighbours property after the car crashed into it a couple of weeks ago.She still can't return to it yet until its repaired.but I saw her DD Mary yesterday and she said her Mum had deteriated dreadfully She has dementia and her DD looks after her full time ,but she is only happy when she is in her own home and because apart from a few days respite she has been staying at her DDs and getting dreadfully stressed. Her DD isn't sure whether she can cope much longer with her at home as she is now doubly incontinent and has taken to wandering the street when she can get out looking for her house Its so sad I have known my neighbour for 18 years and she was always such a sprightly little lady full of energy.
Its awful whats happened to her
Well time to get a wriggle on
Take care all and keep wrapped up warm

Good morning jackie and to those who cros/follow,
Very bright here today but very chilly.
Jackie, dementia is just so cruel. It is awful to see someone you have known for such a long time to go through this. Sounds like her dd has been doing everything that she can for her.
Dd is going to school today, she looks and feels alot better than she did.
Wm is on. I don't know whether to hang it out or just put it straight on the airer. I think its too cold to hang it out really, we'll see.
Dd's boyfriends car was broken into last night. I think he was at football. Nothing was taken, just completely broke the drivers side lock.
Need to get a move on as got to get the packed lunches done.
I hope everyone has a good day and hugs to those who need them.

Morning all,
Just put sofa and chair covers in the wm, I'll switch it on when the solar kicks in. I'm having DGDs at 9am DD2 will be back here at 1pm for lunch so I'll make 2 quiches later, after they've gone I'll tackle cleaning windows d/stairs.
Managed to clear a pile of ironing y/day, one way of keeping warm.
I need to sort out freezers and make room for legs of lamb I've stocked up on. Not much more happening here.
JACKIO, how sad, lets hope the house is sorted soon.

Morning
Snowing here againhope it's short lived
JO dementia is an awful thing , I know a few people with dementia and to see them change from vibrant people to just a shell, it's truly heartbreaking
Not sure what's happening today , it all depends on the snow
Have a good day everyone , keep warm xx0 -
Morning everyone
Hugs to those that need/want them that are having a hard/sad time at the moment x
Light cloud, no new snow, wind has dropped, still very cold here this morning.
DH up and off to work stupid early.
Dinner last night was sausages, mash, veg, onion gravy and LO yorkshires, hot cross buns for dessert. Remembered to get the meat out of the freezer last night so we will be having stew and dumplings tonight. I have parents evening for DS2 so wanted something I could bung in the oven and leave. Will be speaking to someone in authority regarding the incident that is being dealt with by the Police also at the school tonight - I want some answers and explanations, and I will be writing to the Board of Governors and Ofsted if I'm not happy with the outcome.
Work yesterday was still very busy but managable - today I'm training so a much easier day! Only working until lunchtime so will make a start on the list of jobs - also of course lose Friday - so all the jobs I normally do on a Friday now will be done tomorrow. But upside is of course no work on Monday - so a short working week next week - but as it falls over 1st April - next week will be hell - so pleased I'm only working for 1 and half days!
Keep safe and well, take it steady those with snow x

Morning ladies,
Where is Halight this morning, has he had a lie in!
JackieO I'm with you on the eggs, I might even make chocolate rice crispy cakes for my little Oscar he prefers them to an egg. I've already got him a story book about dragons which he loves. My daughter reads him a story every night before he goes to sleep. We are all big readers in our family and I think Oscar is going to be another one, at almost four he is such a clever little boy:)
Talking of family I also have some news, my beautiful son and his wife in Australia are expecting their first baby:j:j I'm so excited. They have had the twelve week scan today and everything is perfect and healthy. So grandchild number 2 on the way. Going to get the knitting needles out and make a few little bits and bobs. I am not a great knitter but not too bad so shall have a bash. If I'm friends with you on face book don't mention on there just yet. I think she is planning to let people know next week, forgive me I'm all soppy and teary eyed this morning.
Money wise its a bit tight this month, no council tax or water rates to pay but have had to order varifocals which are expensive. Need to pay for my youngest Ticket to Leeds festival (its his bday pressie early) and I have a training course on the 2nd may that needs paying. Oh well at least it's all budgeted for and not just stuck on the CC as it would have been in the past.
Have spent the night writing a letter to HSBC in my head so shall get that onto paper this morning.
Planning some ebaying and baking today. It's dads birthday tomorrow so going to make him a fruit cake later to take over to Yorkshire tomorrow.
Otherwise shall snuggle up with my youngest. His class are off to Alton Towers today. His poorly ear means he can't go, being tipped upside down in the cold is not good for a perforated ear drum:eek: so he can stay home with his mum and I may get a couple of cuddles if he is in the right mood, don't get them very often these days so shall make the most of him.
Shall count my blessings for my wonderful family today, have a good one xStarted Self Managed DMP 10th May 2017.

I woke up at 12:20am, Dripping wet of sweat  I felt so hot! (Not In that way)
Anyway, Got up and came down stairs, Cooled off a bit. Fell to sleep In my chair with with a cat on my lap, Don't know what time it was,
I then slept fully without waking up untill 5:50 this morning, So I have had a good sleep. In a way lol.
Its always something, It seem to break my sleep!
Anyway,
Its snowing here now, Coming down quite think and fast, Its also sticking:eek: They have said there might be snow shower today,
Twin One has an hospital appointment today. To see about her ears, She has had quite a few ear infections over the last 12 months. And her GP has been keeping an eye on her ears, The one keeps getting blocked up. And she dose sometimes say her ear hurts.
She is off to school as normal, My wife and I shall pick her up later and take her, Then drop her back off at school.
Last night Dinner was enjoyable, I did homemade burgers out of the Jamie's ministry of food,
Got me thinking now, I shall be off on the hunt for other homemade beef burger recipes.
The Jamie one is worth trying if anyone fancy's it's. easy to do.
Iv add new chick photos to Facebook yesterday afternoon if anyone has not seen them.
Have a grate day all ,
Cheep, cheep :j:j:jYou can have everything you wont in lfe, If you only help enough other people to get what they wont.:j0 -

My Mum, Use to work with people with Dementia, Its a hateful Illness,
I have know a couple of people who have had it, And the worse bit for me, Is when some of there old self shows though, You know they are still in there somewhere, They do still have some small understanding,:jYou can have everything you wont in lfe, If you only help enough other people to get what they wont.:j0 -
morning all, sun desperately trying to shine onto the snow but failing. And bitterly cold.
Today have to pop into the office to deal with some queries and then up to the big smoke for an all afternoon meeting hearing the planning for the next piece of work in my other job. I hate the commute as standing really HURTS and almost guaranteed to stand all the way home. However I love the work so it makes it worthwhile doing it.
Dad is a little bit better, thank goodness.
Trainer yesterday told me to cut right down on carbs, so am trying to do that, but it's not easy. Also she said I should be eating breakfast (well I KNEW that!), so I have just had a few grapes. She promised me I will feel better once I am used to it......well we'll see. She also said that she thinks the pain is less to do with the arthritis and more to do with some muscles being in spasm, so she's given me some exercises and stretches to help with that. I'll give it a try as the last couple of days have been quite uncomfortable and have had to resort to the pain killers a lot.
Lunch will be something on the hoof, dinner a vegetable, chorizio and passata mix up, that I would usually put with pasta but will try on it's own. I think.
Take care y'all and hugs to all who need them.'Do not follow where the path may lead. Go instead where there is no path and leave a trail. Only those who will risk going too far can possibly find out how far one can go.' T S Eliot0
