Ignorance! Argh!!!!

Actually I said "it is of my opinion that you are a d*ck" when she tried to use her "it's just my opinion!" defence just to demonstrate how silly her argument was. It just drives me mad when people hide behind that because they want to espouse hateful opinions. To me it's as daft as "no offense but...".
So let me understand this - your sister is of the opinion that people who are unable to control themselves should not negatively affect other people's enjoyment of a reasonably expensive treat and you think she's a d*ck because of it?
If I'd paid for my family to go to see a film and another child (disabled or not) was disrupting that enjoyment by being excessively loud then I would complain. I wouldn't blame the child but I would absolutely blame his or her parents or carer.
It's not fair that someone is disabled but it doesn't give them get out of jail free card to ruin someone else's experience. If your child is causing a disruption to other people, especially in an environment like a cinema, then you should take them out. If you won't then the cinema should.
That doesn't make them 'd*cks' or bigoted towards the disabled - it makes them people who are less than forgiving when disrupted, regardless of the reason for the disruption. It's rather the behaviour that leads to the complaint, rather than the disability in itself. If it was, then I'd agree with you. But it's not, so I don't.0 -
Wait, what?! My sister expressed a view which was offensive and hurtful towards those with disabilities. And because I stayed calm and argued my case whereas she reacted aggressively and went for my emotional jugular, I'm in the wrong?
That isn't really what you did though is it? You deliberately inflammed the situation and knew exactly what you were doing.Oh I definitely know I'm not innocent and will admit to "troll baiting" her.I didn't raise my voice at her once which only makes her angrier.Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0
