    Yeah, that's not what the manager at Morrisons believes. He told me that Parking Eye may run the car park on behalf of Morrisons, but they are their own company and don't have to heed any requests.

    Methinks the left hand doesn't know what the right is doing

    Of course they as its probably in the contract for parking eye and morrisons. Ensure you ask for that contract by the way, as they must show it to you as part of your defence of the claims, the pepipoo guys will have that covered I suspect.

    This may very well be true. It all depends on the contract between Parking Eye & Morrisons. Don't forget that PE are out of pocket if they cancel a parking charge & these charges are their only source of income. I have seen a PPC contract where the ticket could be cancelled at no cost within 24 hours by the car park owner but after that time a fee of £10-15 had to be paid to the PPC.
  • Right, I've contacted the court. The online tool can't be used now. If I can't log into the claim twice, then it's locked and I've got to revert to snail mail. Which is annoying.

    I still haven't received my particulars either, which is more annoying as I still don't really know what I'm defending, other than a parking claim. I've updated my attachment on Pepipoo aswell after !!!!!!ing it up several times
  • Just as a quick update;

    Forms were sent to the court last week, as were letters to Morrisons and Parking Eye.

    I'll let you all know what happens at the end of the whole thing.

    Thanks for the update, lets see if they will defend it despite being asked to drop the situation by morrisons.

    Good luck Michael, I am in the same position, have had the court order from Northampton, I've filed a defence online and had a second lot of forms come from the court again, which I've duly filled in and requested it be at my local court. Did you get that stuff too? Then I got a letter from Parking Eye with the pics of my car and a copy of all the letters they've sent me (not sure why they did that!). That's the latest and I'm still waiting for a date from the courts.
    If you want to talk further, feel free to PM me.

    Cheers

    Pepipoo is another forum, a free one with parking ticket advice and a wealth of knowledge. Many of us are on there too and you can trust it:

    I am SchoolRunMum over there. But if you have Court papers you would be best to read a few threads like yours first - look for threads with a heading about Civil Enforcement or Parking Eye and actual Court claim papers (not just the letters). You will see that Gan often helps people with their defence, also Wageslave and Bargepole may be able to help.

    Don't try to do this alone, the whole point is that well-defended cases are unlikely to be those that PE actually cherry-picks to pursue to a hearing. You say you have already filed a defence? Alone? I suspect there is much you can add to that unless you are experenced in this sort of thing. It's not just a defence about what happened on the day...you must challenge the whole nature of the claim, PE's lack of status, unreliable evidence (no parking evidence at all), their particulars of claim, all of it.

    So make sure yours is well-defended, with pepipoo help, and do not reply to any other pm's on here or there which are from any poster without thousands of posts.
