Court action threatened

I can only assume that they are charging me for not paying the parking charges I.e 40p an hour up to a maximum of 2 hrs. I can clearly confirm I've never spent more than 1 hour there so the maximum they can be claiming is 40p.
Do you suggest I send to them a cheque in the sum of 40p and offer this as full and final settlement. Do you have any info I can use to back up this is the most they can charge- to quote in my letter?0 -
I would suggest a complaint to the store first to try and 'resolve the issue' there. This will also raise awareness at the store anout the pakring companys means and methods.
if you are polite and fair then they should cancell the charge there and then ( in theory) if they do ask for this in writing, as the parking companies have been known to ignore this type of thing before. From the Plain Language Commission:

I spoke to the store manager. He advised he would email Parking Eye and "suggest" they drop it as a courtesy. I'll keep you posted0

Just so long as I don't want much.0 -
Nice result, if Parking eye do try it on again, go straight back to the store, edit, if you can ask the manager to write on paper what has happened, ie Customer michaelwdownie asked for a parking charge to be cancelled, I/we have contacted the parking company and as this charge has been cancelled.
another edit - again dont worry about this, yes ignore is still an option, but in myopinion its better to be pro-active in compaining to the store/cr park owner to help save other people going through the stress/worry/panic/harrasment caused by these companies.
something lke 60% of people pay up hard earned cash that should be spent elsewhere to these PPCs without questioning it. - You are now one of the 40% who know better. From the Plain Language Commission:

However if they refund parking charges if you spend more than say £5 in the store, and assuming you spent the required amount the damages are zero as it can be reasonably assumed that if you did pay you would have got the money back0 -

I live in Chester-Le-Street and I've get loads of PCNs from Parking Eye at Morrisons.
I park there all the time but I refuse to pay because I don't shop at Morrisons.
For some context, the entrance to Morrisons is located inside a little strip mall called St Cuthbert's Walk. In that mall there are multiple stores, an Iceland, Peters Bakery, Boots and a few other things. Morrisons offer your parking fee back if you spend over a fiver but the rare occasions I do go in there I pay less than £5 for stuff anyway, so what's the point?
The attitude of Parking Eye is that the car park outside the entrance to St Cuthbert's Walk is solely for Morrisons, which isn't the case. Pre-Parking Eye it was a pay and display car park that was self managed for all the stores. Now with Parking Eye, the quality of the car park itself has decreased, there are masses of potholes and the place is a shambles. Added to that the monumental !!!! on that is those meters where you have to enter your reg number, it's a wasted enterprise on me.
I've ignored every letter that Parking Eye have ever sent me. In fact, yesterday I received the second warning for a parking "offence" back in December and I tore it right up and put it in the bin.
I've actually started a petition to get the government to look into their shady business practices because I feel they're a menace to the average consumer.
Don't pay your fines, complain to Morrisons and just let them waste their paper, it's not good for anything.

And why have they joined this forum (look at the post count) to raise that point? Very strange. What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0

What relevance does that have? This court threat has a different reference number from any other PCN notice I've ever had.
If you're just coming on here to stir up crap you're failing. I'm not looking for sympathy or to be admonished, I'm looking for assistance in fighting this.
Oh, for the rest of you, I forgot to mention, I'll not hear from the manager at Morrison's till at least wednesday, so fingers crossed for the next 24/36hrs at least0
