lord knows why but ive spent an hour in the attic and bought loads down well about 8 carrier bags worth of old school books birthday cards and small trinkety tat
asked DD1 if i need to be saving her old math french and science books and she was amazed i still had them so they can go.
birthday cards, im going through and will just save special ones so they have 1 small bag each instead of about 4 carriers.
found a whole carrier bag full of argos type empty jewelry boxes not sure if to bin or if they will be any good to CS, think ill hang on to them and ask when i go in this week

    HHC anyone
im going to be shredding book covers
    SPC~12 ot 124

    Hi all

Just popping in (as I'm not properly Flying for the next few weeks while [STRIKE]Leaky[/STRIKE] Mary is here) to post a heartfelt plea to Skinty's DD3:

Please please wear your spectacles; I refused to wear mine when I was at school (nasty NHS frames, and all the other girls who had specs had nice frames - it was an all-girl school, too, and the b!tchiness was unbelievable). Anyways, as a result of me not wearing my specs then, my eyes are absolutely dreadful now - I can't see my hand in front of my face without my specs; and I now have to have varifocals for normal use, plus another special pair for the computer. Very, very expensive, even if I try and economise by having an inexpensive frame. So please, learn from Aunty Wolfy's mistake.:o Posted in friendship, because I don't want to see someone else suffer such a fate when it's avoidable.:o
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)

    neveah welcome back
dollydog welcome along - don't do too much at once, just do what you can manage and you'll see the difference in no time at all.
pigpen when you said your OH was stripping, I thought of a different type of stripping to what you meant!! :o

Since my post this morning I haven't got as much paid work done as I had hoped - just on a 'go slow' for some reason. Think I'll have to be at it the rest of the day as well, so there may not be much flying from me at all.

I have done one hour of shovelling snow from our front path, bit of pavement round my car (which had been flattened into super-slidey ice!), and dug out my car ready to drive to work tomorrow. Sooooo tired now but have had a peanut-butter and jam sarnie so that should keep me going :D

Nowhere I can find seems to have the gallon containers of vinegar any more, so $ar$on$ pickling vinegar has been bought to restock the drain-clearing cupboard, and lots of soda crystals [STRIKE]in case I need them in[/STRIKE] for the future. The shower drain is almost horizontal and the result is that gunk collects rather too easily for my liking. I'm going to have to diary shoving a bit of bicarb and vinegar down as a precaution every month I think.

It's too cold to spring clean the chalet today. The bed buyer will be coming to collect the Fleabayed beds sometime this week, so I'll clean it then. We've also got to take an decrepit old fridge and the patio table to the tip. I put my hand on it and it went straight through the rusted metal - the h@mmerite paint was the only thing holding it together!

Dog did not stay dry last night but, for once, positioned her pretty bottom over the plastic sheet under the fleece. She also threw up and even managed to do that on the same fleece. I heart her for being so good.
    Better is good enough.

Dusty - please tell me about your new avatar :)

Long story but google cloud cuckoo land images and you will get the idea. It was done as an in joke between DS1 and myself.

So many documents for tonights meeting and still being emailed now - not acceptable so I'm not reading anymore.

Need to get dinner sorted now and DS3 on here to do his homework.
