Planning for a very low spend (under £15) on groceries for this week as OH is away mon - sat and me & the kids are happy to eat up all the bits & pieces and don't mind if we don't have 'proper' dinners. Then on Sat my Dad arrives for a few days (with his GF for one day too) so I want to save the rest of my grocery budget for his visit. He is taking us all out for dinner on sat eve and he is trying to watch his weight so spends shouldn't be too big even catering for him as well.... I jsut want to be able to serve up some nice food instead of 'end of the month, got no money' food!

Checking in with a spend of £80.04 over the last couple of days. This included a 25kg sack of spuds, the price however keeps going up and is currently £12.50.

Already added to my annual total.

Signature updated as small spend over the weekend on fruit & veg.
Started to rain here and has gone very cold again, hope the last day or so wasn't all the summer we are going to have!!!:(

Did cottage pie with carrots, cabbage and parsnips today and mum took one home plus there is enough for one small lunch tomorrow. then DH and mum had apple crumble - I was full up so didn't have any. Just having some soup and bread for tea later on and then if feel hungry later we have either cheese & crackers or fruit.
9 more days left for us then on to May - soon comes around doesn't it.

Well, tomorrow dawns the start of another week, and with any luck a low cost shopping trip. I sort of doubt it though, as things always seem to be costing more no matter what I do. I shall log spends from tomorrow as I've lost a bit of motivation recently - only to have it reminded to me that I need to buckle down. I'll add £50 to my total for so far and continue tomorrow. Sigh.

The shopping list is written and seems endless. The mealplan for the coming week is also written, tweaked, rewritten and tweaked again to make it as frugal as possible without seeming to be skimping. It would get noticed if I did.

Tea tonight is cooking at the moment - toad in the hole to have with beans. Tomorrow, I'm going to have a go at cooking a lamb rogan josh from scratch as I've found an easy-looking recipe. That reminds me - I must take the lamb out. I feel overwhelmed.

    Tomorrow will be better.

Awww Kitchenbunny *hugs*! Tomorrow will be better - don't stress out, just think how much you'd have spent if you weren't trying to be frugal :)

Did a small shop today, spent £13.47. Less than £5 left to do us til Thursday but we should only need coffee :)

Had leftover HM chicken pie from freezer with mustard mash, veg and gravy.

Spends this week of £6.89 at Lidl, £12.99 at Mr T and £37.91 at Aldi. I bought a couple of weeks supply of nappies for DGS at Aldi. Sig updated. Still one more week for April budget. I'm wondering now how low can I go in May?I shall just have to get organised and work out a meal plan for May before declaring May budget. The thing is , is Spring/Summer really here ? Is it hot enough for salad and quiche and what else do you eat that's different in the summer? Any ideas before I put chalk to blackboard?

NSD, hoping for small spends throughout the rest of the week. Need milk though either tomorrow or Tuesday.

Had roast dinner today, used up all cake from weekend as it was bought as a treat for birthday. Now have to get back on the SW wagon though, and get in trim

Good question. Will get thinking, probably too late for your chalkboard unfortunately, but may have to adjust staples etc. Hmmmmmm....
