Creeping back in after losing complete track of what I've spent last week. It has been the most upheavalous week I've ever known, so I've completely lost track of the budget. I think it's around £50 - way too much, I know, but I'm going to add that figure in and start from the next big shop.

Going to do a pasta bake tonight and have just written out my mealplan for the coming week. Next big shop day should be Monday so fingers crossed I can get back on track!

    Have a nice Friday :)

So fed up with myself, I have been really low lately, no doing much and not going out. My eyesight is getting worse and I am still waiting for appointment.

Yesterday the sun was shining and I gave myself a good talking too, like get off your backside and do something, cleaned the kitchen and decided on Ham and egg salad for dinner, put the eggs on and my coat and went off to market to get ham and salad, it wasnt until I was putting the ham in my trolly I remembered putting on the eggs so left rapidly without the salad.

Arrived home to find the fire brigade had been called and my kitchen covered in soot.

Massive cleaning job and now need redecorating.

  • Meg72 hugs to you, I hope it won't take too long to get your kitchen sorted. Maybe think of it as extreme spring cleaning.

meg72 - so annoying, I can understand you feel a bit down about it, but we all do these things sometimes, I am sure when you start it won't take as long to sort as you think now - thinking of you

MEG - Sorry to hear you are having a rough time and feeling down. How awful to read about your kitchen disaster but it shows how easy these things happen and although your kitchen may need some TLC it could have been so much worse.

    NSD today.

Have sorted the freezer out in the kitchen and made a list of everything in it, it is a self defrosting one so that was one job less to do. Kept out a tub of roasted red pepper and tomato soup and the brown drizzle under the steam is balsamic vinegar which I love on this soup. Delicious. We had this for lunch with a ham roll followed by some fruit. Tea tonight for me is some left over lamb casserole with mash and veg from last night and DH is having a curry from freezer with naan bread.

Sending you a big squishy hug Meg, it strikes me you deserve to put your feet up and be kind to yourself, I know how stressful it is to have the fire brigade to your kitchen, I hope you can relax and manage to enjoy the weekend. xxx

Meg72 - sending you a consoling hug. We've all left that pan on till it was smoking! Just unfortunate that you had left the house. Hope you get cleaned up ok.
