Just spend £5.50 in P0undland when only went in for a toothbrush - oops! :o

Did buy a grow-your-own courgette starter kit and a reduced bread tin though so slightly MS...!

We are having an omelette tonight as we're going out, then are away all weekend, then DM is coming over sunday night with a lasagne for us - so should be a good few days for the GC although, unfortunately, not as much so for the entertainment budget - this is the story of my month!

For example, looked at our bank account today and saw that DS spent £60 (YES, £60!!!!) on bar rounds at the wedding we went to last week!!! It was a hotel so expensive, but there was LOADS of free wine and champagne too so this is very annoying! He says it was because out of my friendship group, he was the only man there for most of the day, so kept buying the drinks for 5 girls! Not impressed and makes my efforts with the GC seem somewhat feeble :(

A small spend in !celand on milk and brocolli. £2 added to my total. Lunch for me is lo cottage pie, dinner tonight will be pork spare rib chops in sweet and sour sauce with noodles.

Can see my food bill going up next week as I'm going back to chubby club to try to lose some weight :o

    Have a good day all.

I'm telling myself that money over spent from an ents budget can be taken from a budget for cards/presents/Xmas -- well it could if that wasn't being as hammered as much as it already is. It may be very early but I am seriously thinking about how to reduce cost of Xmas. When I took people out for 2 meals the other week everyone but me was drinking J20 both times, such an expensive drink. But then treating friends and family has to be worth it. . .and I did catch myself thinking 'right, there's more money coming off the shopping this week.'

I don't know how realistic it is but I have a figure in mind of how much I want to have spent on groceries by 21st which would bring me in a little way under target. If I can do this it will be a real sense of achievement I think. We'll see.
  • Not done a big shop for 10 days so spent an eye watering £130.71 but hopefully that will last another 10 days at least!

Ooh K9s that looks lovely, I want some now!

It was very tasty and the Bolognese made enough for four small portions, so i have frozen half and i ate two lots :D. I was actually surprised at how full i was, so will have this over mince Bolognese any time!

In other news ... , a small spend today in HB of £12.30, £8.54 of which was groceries, and cleaning bits/toiletries - the rest was dog chews/and a toy, and cake tin for my brownies i made, to use up the Ready Brek. I also bought my first ever concentrated bottle of Stardrops and Zoflora ... now need to rejog my memory as to what i do with it :rotfl:.

Also spend of £3.39 in FF on Quorn and a drink (as i had rushed round that much i was gasping).

Off to update sig. Got Ocado order at 4pm, so hope this comes in at the est. £20 ish

Haven't checked in for a while - spent about £4 in aldi the other day on half price meat and spent 90p on some fr eggs this morning.
(will change sig after I've posted)

Turns out I have some extra money cos we were going to scrap the car and get £120 but someone's buying it for £200 so that a bonus! Going to try and do without it but I've got a feeling the OH will want a takeaway or a pub meal as a treat!

Almost forgot, I also spent £1.20 on two kit kats  the novelty of having five fingers beat me!!
    Rubbish at the grocery challenge!
  • £3.35 in Aldo on milk, biscuits, kidney beans and mozzarella. About to make hm pizzas for tonight and the freezer. Am impressed how the last half of the month is going, first half was awful but making up for it now I think.

Well I got my Clare Barry meat order tonight and am very pleased with it.
I ordered 20 chicken breasts, 20 pork loin pieces, and 4 things of beef steak mince. With delivery it all cost £57.96 (free del over £80 but I didn't want to spend that much).
I've portioned it all off and have 23 meals worth in the freezer and had one tonight. That is for two adults, a 4yr old and a 2yr old - all of which like their food.

I used tonight's chicken portions to make a big stirfry, serving sauce on the size so we could all taste the chicken, and thumbs up from everyone. Hope this helps someone!
If the rest of the meat is as good as tonight I will definitely be ordering again, it'll save me a fortune.

I get most of my meat from Clare Barry and I love it , I usually save up and buy over £80 to get free delivery. I have had chicken , steak, pork loin, sausages, mince and burgersand its always been lovely , no water oozing out :j
