That includes £20 on my staff card for lunches and the rest for milk, bread, fruit. Don't think that the £20 will last as long as last months, as am working on a project which involves more hours, so eating in canteen is easier. Will have to see how it goes.

But am still doing good on NSD (another one yesterday)and also within budget. If I manage to stick to this level, I will be able to reduce next month again! Joining the GC really helps to be more aware of how much we're spending on food, and how to avoid wasting it. Also very motivational to read how others are doing. I like reading meal plans, and seeing pictures as it also inspires me to cook other things than my usual repertoire.

Risotto today, with left over chicken from roast chicken dinner Sunday. Had made a marmalade cake for work, put it in the kitchen at 10, and at 10.30 there were only some crumbs left. Good thing I'd cut myself a slice first:D

I made my first online meat order from ClareBarry last night

I use them sometimes and they are good - the mince for example tastes better than the supermarket and has a much better texture.

4 reduced pots of cream tonight made into butter, £1.20 total for 4 x 460ml(ish) tubs made just short of 1.5lbs butter, plus 16oz buttermilk for scones.

Got my first ever approved food order today. Always been put off because delivery is £12 to NI!!!! Had a £5.25 discount off delivery code though so i used it. Pretty pleased with at all, esp my lucky dip box. For £1 I got sensodyne toothpaste, 2 packs of biscuits, a mop head(!), washing powder that looks like it might actually be sensitive enough for my kids, face wash, flavoured water, 2 cereal bars & couple of other bits. Only thing I was dissapointed with was a tray of 24 kinder like eggs - they don't taste great as they not proper chocolate. Using them for party bags at weekend though so not too bad.... Would love to order more from them but delivery is sooo dear....

Would you be so kind as to share this code please, if still valid?

My Dad was going to get a Homebrew kit today in the area where the Al*i is based, and having not been for what seems like weeks, i decided to go with him. Stocked up on f&v, lots of cupboard stuff that i prefer from there, Tuna (which we have had none of for weeks as it is so dear everywhere else) and some baking ingredients. All of which i would have paid more for with Ocad*, despite the huge discount. Also loo rolls, which i paid £1.99 for this morning for four :( and have just got 9 for the same price .... if only i had known i was going today, i wouldn't have bought any at all this morning!

My first order from Ocad* comes on Friday and i have now forfeited an extra £5 discount (so now £20 off instead of £25, as i needed to amend the order after the cut off point for the extra £5; aswell as about £25 of offers, so i am hoping the shopping is again no more than £20 by the time all this is deducted.

~ i managed to get a mixing bowl too, so one happy girly :).

Total spend today is £20.76 after deducting mixing bowl (sig updated)

Tonight's tea was Lemon chicken from SW Taste of Asia book. I will edit my post and pop on pic from phone shortly, as it seems to work better from mobile than pc.

Spent about £10 today, bringing me to £141.98 out of £160. I'd only gone in for a couple of potatoes and a cucumber! The rest was whoopsies, have had a great haul this week, freezer is jam-packed now so I can't get any more freezables no matter what.

Anyone got any good recipes using cubed prosciutto (or bacon lardons, I could substitute the prosciutto in place of them)? I'm after something that could be for dinner or tea, a proper meal not a side dish, and no soup please?

K9s - the code is: SHIP5P6XA3 Not sure if it was personal to me though as it said in the email 'spend over £25 on your first order and get free shipping' (£5.25 being standard shipping in England).

of course we feed them bugs but then we post a pic of a highy expensive dinner and pretend thats what we give them.

Oh I know that, that's why I put the fake "nice" food on Facebook where I can be identified :p

I use cubed bacon in spaghetti carbonara which does well as a main meal, especially when served with crusty (or garlic) bread.

Durrr why didn't I think of carbonara? Might do that sometime soon as we haven't had it for ages. Any other ideas anyone?

All I could think of was pea and ham soup for some reason, and I've gone right off soup lately, I think I'm trying to make everything be summery and soup is wintery!

Flo - really feeling for you with the renovations - it'll be worth all the stress hopefully :D

Also loving the 'spiders' for tea :rotfl:

No spends today. Made cauliflower, chickpea and courgette korma (bit of a tongue-twister) and it's the first time we've managed to get the sauce tasting like a takeaway - it's a heavily tweaked version of the one in the takeaway secret.
