Thanks for all your good wishes, I am a bit of a crock. Had some sleep at least in between bouts of coughing (nearly wrote shopping then :)) so that's something. I'm going for an outpatients appointment today and will go to Iceland with my £11.70 gift card from Top Cashback, save a trip later in the week and parking costs twice. I can barely believe I'm typing this, I have always been the least frugal person I know and relentlessly took the mick out of my husband when he parked further away to save paying for parking!

    Meal plan as follows:

Tues: YS turkey fillet (£1.79) from freezer, pasta, hm mushroom sauce, veg
Weds YS trout (£1.70) from freezer, baked potatoes, veg. Parsley sauce.
Thurs: chicken burgers, YS bread rolls from freezer, hm wedges, veg or salad
Fri, just me for tea so toast or something
    Sat, at inlaws
Sun, I am giving a talk at an event for writers :) better get my act together.

Am going to buy basics and puddings with my Iceland gift card and not count cost in my total for month. Nothing needed for meal plan above

Well that's me over my limit and still 11 days to go :-S... just need fruit and veg topups though and milk/bread so will try and spend as little as poss for rest of month as still have chicken breasts, sausages, bacon and mince in freezer.. not to mention several tupperware surprises. Most of the TS's are single portions though and we have Mr SHeep's friend staying for 2 weeks - I would happily serve up 2 different random meals for just me and Mr Sheep but doesn't seem right doing it for a guest :)

Ahh! and I have just remembered my love2shop vouchers from the MSE talktalk broadband deal which came about a week ago - can spend in iceland.. so may try and do the rest of my shopping in there as much as poss.
Get well soon MrsCautious.. hope your building work is going ok Florenceem everyone else hope you're enjoying the couple of warm days despite the wind!

    Keep up the GCing xxx

(There were more nutritional aspects to the meal lol - they both wanted bread, yogurt and fruit with it and were stuffed after. Lots of fun!)

    In other news...
I made my first online meat order from ClareBarry last night and it comes tomorrow. 20 butcher's pork loin steak, 20 butcher's chicken breasts (large and don't shrink!) and a load of butcher's mince for £53 (bear in mind that will do us all a month when made into burgers, diced, separated off etc). The first time I've used an online butcher so I'll let you all know re quality and cost effectiveness.

Bet you get some funny looks at the school gates when your kids tell everyone they had spiders for tea :rotfl:

We still have the immersion heater at the moment so managed to get a bath and wash up last night. This morning - washed in cold water - woke me up quickly! All upstairs in turmoil so I am camped in the kitchen with dog and laptop. Roll on 4pm when the Plumbers go home!
Not planning to shop today. Been trying to run down food stocks for when the kitchen is ripped out next month!

Ran out of toilet roll and decided to take up the offer in C*-*p of the B1G2F kitchen roll as i use this for pet accidents, and one sheet also dries off the cat bowls; so will last ages ( i know it's not very MSE, but don't fancy using cloths for job number 1)! Also picked up two A*tivia on offer, so £2.41 in there spent.
Then went to other local shop One-St*p and got a treat for weekend of rtc Rolo bar and Aero bar on offer, and priced up and bought toilet rolls (though i'm loathe to pay over 99p for four, but ended up having to pay double that). So another, £3.27.
Roll on Mr Ms opening up here. Hopefully, i will have well got into the swing of things by then and will pick up more YS stuff and can cut out the majority of my online shopping therefore knocking off the delivery charge.
    Off to update sig.

My first month is just about coming to an end on the 19th of April, I have just added up the cost of my Grocery bills for this month. OMG I can not believe I spend that much money on food....... I set myself a budget of £300.00 and I have gone way over this.

I need to stop spending so much on things that I don't really need..... and stop spending just of the sake of it....

Its a new month for me on Friday - so will set myself the same target of £300..... which works out about £75.00 per week.....
