smallish spend in aldi this week -30.30 (well, small compared to normal mr t,s delivery) -Sigy updated -that'll be enough to get us over the weekend I think, then will have to stock up on fresh fruit etc for pack lunches next week when our kids go back to school.

So far so good, however, circumstances about to change as going back to work full time  MUST not get out of my moneysaving habits acquired this year ! Hoping I won't have time to spend money but WILL not go back to convenience food shopping (note to self ;))
Hoping that the meal planning and being organised habits are well and truly embedded in my brain !
    . FEB GC £255.82£240 :mad::mad::mad:

  • morning all :)

well its the end of week 2 and i've spent more than i would have liked this week, but im putting it down to bargain shopping in morrisons :p

    spends this week

morri$ons £20.51 - popped in on sunday to get a sack of spuds and the girl reducing fruit and veg offered me a sack for £3 instead of £5.95 as it had a rip in it. Also got some cat food, a huge reduced smoked gammon joint. the pack weight said 1.3kg but i weighed it when i got home and it was 1.9kg. Also spotted some reduced diced ox heart so thought i'd give a try. at 75p its worth a punt.

Ald! £35.02- normal weekly shop, stuck to the list for once, the only extra was rice which i forgot to add on!

    Spends so far.. £206.16
which seems a lot but our month is running til 28th as the shop after will be counted as may spends so 2 weeks to go and approx £70 left. very do-able :)

We're off on hoilday during may half term so i have meal planned for may to use up stuff in the freezer, and we return on 1st june so got a bit carried away and meal planned til the end of june! No new recipes (except the ox heart) but need to use up some stocks to keep costs down for may and june.

Have a great weekend all

Me too, back to work next week. Biggest potential spending trap will be buying lunches at the office or round about I think, really hoping to get organised with packed lunches or pop home.

I just had a delivery and I was expecting a freebie bottle of surface cleaner, there was this, plus a bottle of bleach, a box of washing powder, oven cleaner and fabric conditioner. At least two of these were on my shopping list for a couple of weeks' time so very chuffed with that. I need to take a pic of each and review them online. I feel like I have won a competition without entering! (I have been comping not as much as I could since March and not won anything yet so this was a lovely surprise.)

Am still poorly today and may end up still eating what's here, without adding little fresh extras I would have bought, putting off a planned sm trip until tomorrow, so fishfingers, peas and wedges for tea. It's helping me see that even the small top up shop I had been planning isn't strictly necessary x

    Morning all,

Good luck to all those going back/starting work next week :D

Paid 2nd purse back for items used this week - £33.20. Will need to shop this weekend (probably Ts as it's closest) as we are out of cheese (big problem if there's no cheese in the house!) plus will need to get some packed lunch bits for start of term on Tuesday.

Dinner tonight is going to be baked meatballs and gnocchi from the index. Need to make or buy a pasta sauce to go with. Will have a look and see what I have in the cupboards/fridge before venturing out.

    Have a good day everyone,
    Coxy

It's going well this month (whispered quietly in case I jinx it!). €426.13/€600 so far spent and 1 more big shop to do.

25% off fruit and veg in our Lidl this week so that helped a bit! And I'm away at a conference in Dublin for Sat/Sun so that's one less at home eating out of the supplies!

Mr T spend of £42.26 ( minus 11.94 cat food). This also includes £6.82 of promotions and £5 off voucher. Will have to minus cat food off sig as forgot. This has included lots of fruit and veg ( still had loads of cupboard staples from last shop, so only needed one tin), fruit juice and cartons (for next week's packed lunch), dairy and a few bits of frozen veg and fish.

I have defrosted chicken and tarragon for tonight's tea ... not sure what to serve with it ... anybody got any recommendations? It already has carrots and potatoes in it! Tomorrow's tea is Thai fish cakes - anybody any idea of accompaniment to go with those also? I normally have salad with dinner so preferably something hot.

Edit now having mushroom Thai curry for tomorrow's tea before i end up with sludgy mushrooms _pale_

Added pic of tonight's tea ... too bland for me, so won't be on the repeat list. Ended up serving with cauli and broccoli, LO peas in fridge and two yorkshire puds (not pictured)
