  • School shoes for DS, ughhhh, but from a different budget... well, from a non-existent pot of money!! Day out at a zoo with T-co deals vouchers, hooray!
T-co spends: £36.47, to use the £5 off £40, so an extra fivers worth free. Did not really need that much so tried to stock up on essentials on special offer - Heinz beans 8 cans for £3 seemed good!
Def NSD tomorrow, and back to work so much remember to make lunch tonight!

NSD for me yesterday and hoping for another one today. My children are at a friend's for tea so I will just have toast or something. Tomorrow I'm going to defrost some YS prawns and cook in a hm sauce with garlic, mushrooms and onion, with pasta and salad. Friday will be 2 chicken drumsticks each with roast potatoes, carrots, peas and gravy. After that we have a few days away and when I asked my mum what food I should take, she said I'm not to take anything and she will take care of it all, I have been having a very tough time and I know she wants to look after me a bit!

I think it's realistic to expect that I could come in a fair few pounds under target this month if that is the case, but my eating out/entertainment budget has already taken a battering early this week and I will be sure to treat us all, including my parents to Sunday dinner at a lovely restaurant, unless my dad insists on paying, which has been known :), so while my grocery shopping bill could be lower this month, other spends are up. I took my children and a friend to the cinema and for a meal at Chiquito on Monday and after being so tight last month, I'm dwelling on the cost a little. As it was Easter, I think I will tell myself this can come out of my presents/cards/Christmas budget.

Have a wonderful time Hun and let your lovely mum and Dad do a bit of spoiling you deserve it and I bet they are really proud of you for doing so well.

We HM bacon & egg pie - ( recipe from a cookery book - 1981) with roast potatoes, roast parsnip, cabbage and onion. The pie was delicious - the bacon was smoked.

I have some spends to add on from Saturday but will need to find the receipts. I had defrosted some lamb on monday which didn't get eaten do DH turned it in to a curry for himself and I have managed to persuade him not to get a chippy tea tonight but to have chicken and chips n the house as I had already defrosted the chicken. I also have an opened bottle of wine in the fridge which needs using up;)

Tomorrow I need to make salads to use up an unopened bag of salad in the fridge.

    Waste not want not:)

DM and DStepdad coming for lunch on Sunday but will try and rustle up a chicken casserole as lots of chicken in the freezer. I have double cream left unopened from Easter so may make a chocolate pavlova from the recipe in the index. We have plenty of wine in so I won't need much for their lunch. As we are on holiday from next Saturday I am trying to limit my GC spends until we get back as my new month starts then.

Florenceem, that looks delicious! That's going right on my "to make" list. Well when I've lost the weight from my recent pie making anyway.

I have just spent £79.40 in Aldi for the next 3 weeks of meal plans. There were a few bits that ended up cheaper in Tesco such as the smoked salmon offer so I will go tomorrow which might end up costing £20. And after that its a matter of just buying fruit, veg and dairy when needed. That's the plan anyway. This April is going to be a massive challenge to my impulse control. Its having to walk through the town centre 4 times a day that got me into everyday top-up shops so lots of NSD's should help me out.
Jan-March: reduced monthly food bill by £400 (cancelled overdraft and started saving)
    April: £112.17/£180 food budget. £9.39/£20 household. 4/15 NSD's.
