LW, glad to hear that Mary has arrived, she sounds hard work, but lovely.
Thanks, yes she is extremely hard work (I'm considering renaming her Leaky:D) but she's such a little sweetheart, and she can't help being elderly with all the problems that come with old age.:o We've already had a puddle this morning - thank goodness for newspaper!:D

LW enjoy Mary. Do you do part days? As I know DH wants to go around Bletchley Park and don't think they allow dogs.
Only overnight stays, as far as I know; I don't do the bookings, that's down to the local franchisee, I just get an email saying this dog would like a holiday on these dates, would you like him/her.

When are you thinking of visiting Bletchley Park? We went only the other day, as it happens.:o
halight you really need to get yourself to the doctor tomorrow, no ifs or buts :naughty::naughty::naughty: or LW will have to come and sort you out.
    You have been warned!!;)

Snow has nearly all gone for now, but its still blowing a hoolie. I cooked a big piece of pork in the slow cooker yesterday as it was dirt cheap, will slice it, portion it and bung in the freezer. Sunday dinner here was rarely a roast until the past couple of years when OH decided he wanted a return to his old favourites, but every 2nd week as I work alternate weekends. If I cook one now most is frozen as above, DS doesn't eat roast dinners and DD is frequently at the BFs. Today I will probably have a tin of soup or something, been having a rough couple of days and home alone, can't be bothered cooking for just me and don't feel like eating anyway.
Right, am off out somewhere, the walls are closing in on me today! Have a good day all.
    RIP Iain

Not much more snow here but still really cold and windy so its blowing in drifts, the grass at the front is clear now apart from a strip near the hedge where its gathered in a drift.Sun's out now too.

DGD slept all night and went to sleep earlier than usual too:j so don't feel quite as tired. She's just gone home.

We dont always have a roast, depends who is going to be in.Today not sure about DS1,he may go out but hopefully DS2 & Dil2b will be back, they've gone for a trip round the War museum near Trafford park,so we've got beef in the sc.Made apple pie and a victoria sponge yesterday, plenty left,& DH can do the spuds so I am going to have an hour with the paper ;)

Nice to hear from you Penny Pincher and to hear DD doing so well, and your business.
    Hugs for Halight and Jools.
Enjoy the rest of your Sunday x

    Hi All

its cold here but no more snow.

Had a very relaxing day watched the F1 this morning, just watched two carry on films they make me laugh every time and am now watching Ice age.

We never have roast on Sundays as its normally our lazy day here so just something out of the freezer, we do like it though and will generally have one, one night in the week.

I have changed and washed the bedclothes and a load of towels going round now so I have moved slightly today.

Can I add my voice to Halight please go to the Dr's

Hugs and best wishes to all

    Afternoon all
We almost always have a Sunday Roast, hubby loves a roast & I find it economical as I use up the leftovers.
    Penny, nice to see you.
DD & the littlies have just gone, I helped the littlies make a batch of Twinks, hubby took them gardening for while & I cooked dinner for them all, DD says she feels like she's had a holiday after few hours here. She manages the foster children all on her own now her husband has left & sometimes she has 2 respite as well as her 3 permanent ones.
Hubby is now watching the GP whilst I get my breath back & start another blanket.
    Hugs Hester

Penny pincher where has the time flown to,it doesn't seem five minutes ago your DD was starting at senior school Well done to her for working so hard, and glad to 'see' you back again.
I too have a roast dinner every Sunday although my son-in-law or Dd makes it as i go there every Sunday around 4.00 and DD and I play scrabble or cards with the boys then we always have dinner about 6.00
I do cook a small roast sometime mid-week but its usually just maybe a smallish chicken as there is only me to feed and left overs get made into a chicken & leek pie and scraps made into a small curry bulked out with veg and the carcass becomes stock for Hm soup.
Normally I do seem to eat chops or fish and have mash or the occasional chip and peas with it.Living alone it hardly seems worth the while to do beef, although if my friend visits for the day I will sometimes make a small pork lion joint for us and we have it at lunchtime.
Eldest DD loved her breakfast and went off home clutching a large box of brownies to her chest as a treat instead of an easter egg.I think at 45 she's it tad old for an Egg somehow :):)
I'm now just about to have a large cup of tea and some sultana & cherry cake that I made yesterday for an afternoon treat. Then I shall wrap up well and toddle off to my youngest DDs
Hope you are all keeping wrapped up and cosy in the bad weather
take care everyone its nasty weather out there

I didn't think you were being rude. I know what you mean about the splints. I managed to get a few imported from USA which are great and have a spare one if you'd like it? They work wonders and are much better than the !!!! ones you get here in the UK. Thanks for the well wishes and hope you're health has been stable. Take care. xx

Tell me about it! I feel so old:eek::eek::eek: DD was only 10 I think when I joined before she did her 11+ and passed, so yes, time has gone so quickly! We've been getting her to do a dinner each week from a book I bought her about essential student cooking, and so far, she hasn't killed us:D I'm 40 next year too...its not fair:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

I'm glad you're doing ok Jackie. I often think about you and your lovely family and how blessed you are. x
