O/S Daily Saturday 23rd March This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well”

Good morning everyone
Lots of snow here too and it looks like it has frozen overnight. I don't think I will be going outside today, if I can help it.you can only take 1200mg of ibuprofen in 24 hrs, so you should have that 8 hourly and the paracetamol 6hourly.
With my job head on again, just a quick comment that this is the self prescribed dose, i.e. if you have bought the ibuprofen in a shop. If it is prescribed for you by a doctor or a dentist, the dose can be considerably higher.
Plans for today are to declutter a desk in the loft, which is piled high with books and DH has even filled the knee space with them too. It's freezing up there so the arrangement is DH brings the books down a box at a time and I sort them into keep, Amazon, Oxfam piles.
Am having a cooked breakfast/brunch and then some of the pulled pork for dinner, possibly with rice and peppers, as I have some to use up.
Well wishes for all sick people and pets and hugs for those who need them or just want them. Keep well, warm and safe and have a super day.LBM 10/1/12 ~ DFW Start 6/2/12: £82,344 ~ Now Zero:staradmin:starmod::staradmin Debt free 17th April 2015 :staradmin:starmod::staradmin

Morning everyone
Halight - may be I spoke too soon yesterday! Hope your day is not too bad and your pain is controllable and the caffeine keeps you awake, perhaps you can get your head down for an hour or 2 this afternoon.
Hugs to those that need/want them that are having a hard/sad time at the moment x
Well the promised snow has arrived, not as much as other parts of the country but it has now settled, it snowed on and off all day yesterday and then started to settle during the evening, still getting flurries now.
Yesterday DH and I went to the next town and got the signatory papers sorted, the young lady in the bank was excellent and most helpful - we originally went to the local branch and was appalled at their lack of customer service and the fact that they didn't know what I was talking about nor were they helpful. I can see a time when the local branch will be closed as there's big branches at 2 other towns not that far away that open much longer hours. We also did a quick bit of shopping, we both had a new waterproof 3 in 1 coat, mine is really old and literally falling apart and DH has never had one before - both were half price in the sale so a good buy. We also bought him some new shirts and ties - when we go away if we have official duties - then we wear smart dress - him in a suit and tie and myself in a trouser suit/skirt suite, dress and jacket.
Today DH and DS1 should be going to collect the equipment that we didn't get to collect yesterday - hope the roads that way are ok - I did want DH to go yesterday whilst the roads were still clear and then he wouldn't have to go out today - but he chose not to go!
Dinner last night was a naughty takeaway - had menu planned but DH wasn't that bothered about what I had planned so was just easier to have a takeaway - as we don't have it very often anymore was really delicious, we all enjoyed and there was no waste - don't mind spending a bit on a treat like this as we're not away very much at the moment so it's a nice treat. We very rarely have any other sort of takeaway and I don't buy takeaway in the week either. Lunch today will be roast chicken, roasties, mash, veg, stuffing, gravy and yorkshires.
Keep safe and well, take it steady those with snow x

Apart from a bad head, and my wrist,
I'm not In pain now,
This Leg,lower, neck, and Last night shoulder. Burning pain/Intense pins and needles only seem to come on at night,
I think its something to do with the steroids,
but Last night was bad, But far the worst. It been a couple of weeks I think since I woke up In pain, Most of the waking up and not sleeping has In the main been pain free,
I will admit,
Last Night I was inchs away from dialing 999, The pain was that bad!
Any more nights like that And I'm off to the doctors,
In fact I might go anyway tomorrow,
Because that cant not be right!:jYou can have everything you wont in lfe, If you only help enough other people to get what they wont.:j0 -
Morning all
Halight, hope you feel better soon.
LW, glad to hear that Mary has arrived, she sounds hard work, but lovely.
Molly, the invitation still stands for the Easter holiday if you feel well enough.
Very icy here today, it snowed for hours yesterday but didn't pitch, just left everything very wet underfoot & now frozen solid.
All plans for today have now changed, DD is dropping her big ones paintballing and as it is near me she's coming here with her little ones. I'll do sausages for lunch as her littlies won't eat the roast pork that I'm doing for hubby. I also have all the stuff ready to make brownies & twinks, so they can bake with me & dd can put her feet up for a while. Hiubby will take them over the local shop to buy them a comic & some sweeties. It's too cold for hubby or them to do any gardening, the soil is frozen solid.
Have a good day everyone
Hugs Hester

Morning chums sorry to hear you've had another bad night Halight.Drs for you tomorrow I think.Well its very cold and a covering of snow here in Kent but not as bad as the folk further north. What on earth is going on with the weather.Next Sunday its boat race day I think they maybe have to turn it into a skating one if it carrys on like this.I should think the easter bunny has hopped off pretty smartish if its got any sense
:)
I just looked out of the window and a pot of crocus' are trying to shine through the gloom so hopefully we may get some relief soon .No wonder we Brits talk about the weather all the time:):)
My eldest DD is off to Boston next Saturday with her OH for a break and I don't think the weather is any better there either, still she will shelter in the shops no doubt:)
Right coffee is perking and I must get a wriggle on as DD will arrive for her breakfast shortly. Its her Sunday morning treat breakfast at her Mums and she has 'strangled eggs and crackers' (her choice) with numerous cups of coffee and this morning she will have a brownie to follow
have a good one folks what ever you are doing

Morning all,
Still bitterly cold here but no snow, we are due a few flurries later but its not supposed to settle.
Got our bedding in the wm, will hang it on the line for an hour or so, as its really blowy.
Will go and see my dad at lunch time and help him with his dinner, OH is off to the boot sale and market for an hour or so. he will hopefully bring home a joint of meat for next week, I need to drop dd at work this morning.
Something with chicken for dinner, might just do bread and butter and tomatoes, nice easy meal, we will have our roast tomorrow.
Halight get yourself to the Dr tomorrow, and tell him you nearly called 999 due to the pain, its not right, you should not feel like that.
Have good days all and stay safe xx0
