Hello everyone. Welcome to the Weekly Spend Challenge. This challenge is open to anybody, no matter what financial place they are in.
On this thread please post an amount of money you wish to stay below within the week (Sunday to end of working day on Friday). This can be pennies or thousands it depends on the individual. Then next Saturday report back and pledge for the following week. The challenge runs from Sunday to Friday so we don't include Saturdays but feel free to change the rules to suit you and include Saturdays or start on a different day.
Feel free to update this thread with daily spends if that keeps you on track. We colour code the results as below:
Green - within budget
Red - overbudget
Purple - zero spend
Orange - made money over the week
This is a little bit of fun but for many it highlights the fact that maybe that magazine/chocolate bar isn't needed. Hopefully your spending habits can be changed forever.

Hi ETO, thanks for the new thread
Really hoping i can be green this week before i end up red for the next 2 weeks due to kids off school AGAIN!! Im sure we never had this amount of holidays as these kids do now!

Everyone's welcome, I'm glad everyone finds it so useful.
Well I've set £30 but I have some change in a bowl so may be able to scrape another £10 to make it £40.
£20 petrol
£10 or £20 spends
As hubby is back I am having to change things slightly. I am keeping my monthly grocery budget, but our main grocery spends will be from our joint account then my monthly £100 - £120 will be used for top up shops and bunny food.
I can't wait until payday as my new account is up and ready to go.
Good luck everyone.SPC 18 Target £200 /0 -
Thanks for the new thread ETO.
I am shopping on Thursday afternoon as I need to buy my friend a birthday present. The present isn't coming out of this weekly budget, but I am going to try to streth the £50 to a par of Gap jeans for me
I am going to an outlet centre so it is possible providing I do not spend much leading up to Thursday.
I have already bought my crisps and snacks for lunch at work, so I just need to get cans of diet pepsi and some bread as I have enough to fillings to fill 4 sandwiches
Whaddya reckon? Can I stretch the budget to a pair of jeans??SPC9 #125 - £816.85

SPC 13 #7 - £4829.85

Good luck 32b3, I don't know how much GAP jeans cost, but it sounds doable if you stick to the few bits you need, and don't spend anymore on any other wants.SPC 18 Target £200 /0
