How much time do you spend alone?

I love my own company!
When I've got time to myself what I like to do is tidy up. Sounds tragic I know but I can't relax in mess. Get my comfies on (my OHs running bottoms and tshirt) Get my well used Sex and the City box set out. Get the bottle of wine out (saves having to keep going back and forth from the kitchen) and veg out on the sofa.
Seriously relax and enjoy the peace!0 -
I have to have time on my own or I become bad tempered! I always look forward to be on my own...however, I would not be happy living on my own. I just need some time for myself. I think it stems from me being an only child with very busy parents. I had plenty of time on my own as a kid and I learnt to occupy myself happily. Well I don't if I learnt it or it was in me, but I do remember enjoying these time even as a child.
Thankfully, I do get these times as my kids are with their dad every Saturday and my partner is a very busy man. I used to miss him when we still lived apart because I felt we were not seeing each other enough, but since we've moved together, I am usually relieved when he goes out and I get the house for myself!0 -

I spend most of my time alone. I can't say I like it but its the way its always been for me. I was the only child in the house growing up, my parents both moved to England from their native countries so we didn't have extended family around us and neither of them have really had friends themselves as they've been so hardworking and not particularly social. All of this coupled with long bouts of ill health since I was a teenager has meant I've had long periods of isolation and lots of friends just stopped contacting me when I wasn't well. My health is pretty good now and I have lots of hobbies and mix a fair deal but I don't always find it easy to get close to people.
Don't get me wrong, I like "Me" time but I think I'm a people person by nature and as it stands I get very lonely. There is nothing I'd love more than a big happy family of my own.0 -
I work a lot on my own, and also live on my own so do spend a lot of time in my own company. I solved the loneliness issue by getting a high maintenance dog!
I have only been in this situation a couple of years, and it did take a while to get over that antsy feeling you describe.
I have gone too far the other way now though and am turning in to a crazy dog lady due to lack of human contact. Trying to keep getting out and about to see people for real conversation though0 -
I've lived alone for a few years now, and I absolutely love it, I don't think I could ever go back to living with another person full time. I've always had pets, but that's not because I'm lonely its because I love having animals around.
Whenever I lived with other people, I always looked forward to and absolutely relished the times when I had the place to myself. Make the most of it OP, and maybe make some effort to carve out a bit more alone time for yourself to get used to it.0 -
I'm on my own weekdays from 8 till about 5. On an evening most weeknights too. Its not often 'Youngest' goes out but he shuts himself in his bedroom and i dont hear from him all night.

I spend time during the day alone, not every day, but its between 9.00 - 3.00 when the kids are at school.
I read, watch tv, iron, wash, bake, shop, tidy, I quite enjoy it.0 -

You come across as a really nice person. Keep the faith, it will happen for you.The best day of your life is the one on which you decide your life is your own, no apologies or excuses. No one to lean on, rely on or blame. The gift is yours - it is an amazing journey - and you alone are responsible for the quality of it. This is the day your life really begins.0 -
I work shorter hours than my husband and so get home before him, that is probs the main time I spend alone. I don't mind it, it gives me time to potter about the house and then when he's home we can spend time together. I work in a school and so have half terms off etc, hubby tries to take a bit of time off most holidays, even if its so we can have a long weekend together which is nice, but mostly I have the time alone, or with friends.Married my wonderful husband on 8/9/12 :j0
