    Oh my Goodness!

Today the agent asked me to leave some of my curtains and furniture for the next tenant!!
    What ??
They then asked if i can leave a week early? as they have a new tenant ..
So i asked them how much ? they said what do you mean how much? Well i said i'm not going to leave it for free! Nor am i leaving the flat a week early ..
I asked them to give tenant my phone number if they want to buy anything Curtains - etc.

Can you believe the bare faced cheek..i've been reeling from anger at the bully boy tactics used...

Well picked the wrong day to try and push me over !! humph.. rant over !!

God knows where thsi strength came from but pleased that i have stuck up for myself :D

What a rare treat , 3 days accommodation and hopefully food ;) on the bosses as I am traveling with work, will be so nice to be warm ( am cold to the bones these days) and fed - 3 course meals here i come ..!!! well ...nicetry but i'll see if i can push it for once.

Plus saves £5 on the electric too!!! :T

Must do EBAY, must do Ebay, must do ebay ...nope still not remotely motivated to do ebay.. at 18.10 maybe i'll give it a start.

Reality check - Need to pay electric so yes must really do ebay ..come on kid you can do it.

    x
    :(
  • dont envy you doing ebay, it is the most mind numbingly boring job!!

Well done you for standing up to the bullies!!!!
    December 2018: £20,850.24. Now: £18,333.02 Total paid in 2019: £2517.22

    Weight loss: 1.5lbs
  • Awake again ..dear oh dear!!

Boss is going to be really angry...!!!! gulp.

Can not travel AWAY with work tomorrow as can not afford the hotel..as company hotel account has no credit left so hotel want me to pay up front ..boss will say just do this and just claim on expenses..I am already over £400 spent on expenses so i can not lay out another £100 - £150 on top of the £55 fare i had budgeted for.... so no three courses for me!!
I can go on Thursday as i have funds coming in..but i will be so scared to tell them i can not go tomorrow.....

will have to think of a good little white lie....? Maybe my bank swallowed my card :-) or could not use card due to temporary fraud block ? Actually i dont want to lie..I will just email them to say i cant go until Thursday and see what they say.

2 references down:j only the bank to go ...gulp

LL Agent and Work ref 's done so hopeful the bank will say i am good for the money.

If they dont i'll cross that bridge when i get there, fingers and toes crossed for me and eyes too for that matter.

The carpet in the new studio is vile.. with a capital V

Big crazy orange, blue and green swirls...i dont even think i would be able to "celebrate" it's horridness with some funky home accessories and i must admit i have never seen such a horrid pattern in all my life.

I am hoping to make £90 on fleabay just so i can pay elec bill off & maybe spend some of this on the studio to make it liveable..

I looked at really cheap carpet 4m x4m which will cover the studio carpet..i can just lay it over the top of the vile one maybe that is a good idea....?

Yes, this would make it much nicer :D but it means spending :o but if i'm going to be there long term (ish) it will be worth it.. dont you think.

Quite possibly I just can't adjust to it as is at the moment as I think it is not a good enough place for me to live.

MUST NOT be too fussy with the new landlord as they will just tell me to "off " or get out on my ear as other people will let it ASAP due to the price.

New landlord says carpet is like new ?? so will not even clean for me.. i dont think they have been insane enough to make that pattern since the 70's so hardly new.

Much to their annoyance ..I have already requested new landlord clear up the old stuff left outside property by the previous tenants...hoover, bbq,old rug and dog poop. they acted annoyed but it 's the least they can do for a new tenant...they did say to me i can just get rid of it but why should I?

When you are at the lower end of the rental market people really do tend to think they can get away with treating you like dirt as you have no other choice.

Never mind..........the fact that i can afford it and the bills will be such a huge weight off my mind :T and really am looking forward to that part .. So going to be an exciting time.. getting the keys hopefully on the 25th. :D

There will be some moving in serious cleaning / germ killing to do!!! gives me back ache just thinking about it ..:rotfl:

1.Think about carpet.. to spend or not to spend?
    2. Do best sales pitch ever to gumtree woman coming to buy some of my furniture..if i dont post tomorrow night then you know that they have killed me.. scary thought.
    3. Ask boss for one last time about credit card before I lose the will to live.
    4. source boxes or more appropriately ..rubble bags?? to pack up [STRIKE] crap [/STRIKE] worldy goods in.

  • Hi Goldblend

I haven't logged on for a day or so and when I do, I find you're motoring ahead with your plans.

I wonder if you realise how strong you are? You probably feel that your debt is controlling you, but you're starting to control it. In the time you've been on this board you've taken steps to tackle the work expenses problem and you've not only decided to move to improve your situation - you're doing it very soon. You're tackling so many issues - current agents, future landlord, furniture, boss - head on.

I know you've a way to go but you will do this. I remember when I paid off my first debt (my loan). I couldn't believe i had done it as it was so high when i started. Then Next (stupidly high and nasty APR) went. things we think we can't achieve, we do.

Re the carpet, could you wait till you've moved in to see how annoying the swirly carpet seems? Is a large neutral rug a good compromise between being comfortable and not wanting to spend? And when move in (in two weeks!) OK you'll have to do some serious cleaning, but you'd do that anyway - and you'll be making it a home AND a stepping stone towards your new life.

PS I once moved into a rented, furnished house I hadn't seen. My housemate (who found) described it as "very clean" but when I got there, there was even a used teabag left in the teapot. Cleaning? I thought I'd never stop.:D

    Seventh Anniversary Debt-free and Proud!
The thing about huge swirly carpets is, once you get your furniture in, and a big rug down, you stop seeing it. Live with it a while, and if you find it is just TOO distracting, THEN cover it up wae another one.
Loving how positive youre sounding :)
Its just a bad day, Not a bad life ..
  • Hi there, I came across your diary on here from April - I don't know if you're sorted now but I just wanted to say it was inspiring...I'm in the same sort of situation you were in, gf cheated, left to live with him, I got lumbered with a soul crushing 22k debt and am running a car and cheap flat. Its making me ill, I don't have any luxuries at all (Internet etc), and am able to spend less than £20 a month on food, I was told that to be above the breadline one has to spend above £110 a month.

My wage is gone before I get it, and I've gotta find £180 from nowhere just to exist :-(

Any help or advice would be helpful as I'm at my wits end. My wage is currently engulfed with ctax, car insurance, rent, water, elec. it's such a mess and I'm constantly hungry, I've even been 'winning' my lunches at work in raffles etc :-( and lunch would be a bag of crisp.

    I can't cope.

I hope you don't mind me jumping in as the original poster hasn't been on this thread for a while they may not see it.

I think the best thing for you to do is start a thread in the DFW section and there will be loads of people who can offer support and advice.

Apologies if you have already done this.

I have copied this to a PM in case you don't see it.
